    Magnesium salicylate - phenyltoloxamine - oral

    (mag-nee-zee-um sal-iss-uh-late w/fen-ull-toll-ox-uh-meen)

    common brand names: Magsal, Mobigesic

    Warning: children and teenagers should not use aspirin, aspirin- containing or aspirin-related tablets for flu symptoms or chickenpox without 1st consulting a healthcare professional. rare but serious illness known as Reye's syndrome may occur.

    Mag Phen Usage: this pill is a combination of an anti-inflammatory agent & an antihistamine used to relieve the pain & swelling (inflammation) about arthritis.

    How to use Mag Phen: Take it medication by mouth, generally 3 to 4 times per day with food or full glass about milk (8oz. or 240 ml) as directed by your pharmacist. the dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy.

    Mag Phen side effects: Heartburn, nausea, vomiting, headache, drowsiness, dizziness, nervousness & dry mouth may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your physician. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use saliva substitute. Tell your physician immediately if you have any about these unlikely but serious side effects: stomach pain, black stools, vomiting about material that looks like coffee grounds, ringing at the ears, hearing loss, unusually fast or slow heartbeat, blurred vision, change in amount of urine. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if this occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other side effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

    Mag Phen Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: kidney or liver problems, heart disease, bleeding disorders, stomach/intestinal ulcers, hypertension, diabetes, glaucoma (narrow angle), asthma, allergies (especially to aspirin or NSAID such as ibuprofen). this drug may make you dizzy or drowsy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. this medicine can cause stomach bleeding. daily use of alcohol & it medicine may increase your risk for stomach bleeding. Inform you're dentist or physician that you are using this medication, especially before surgery. Caution is advised when prescribing or using this medication in the elderly since they may be more sensitive to effects about the drug. this medicine contains drug similar to aspirin. children and teenagers shouldn't take this med if they have chickenpox, influenza or any undiagnosed illness with out first consulting a pharmacist about Reye's syndrome, a rare but serious illness. this med should be used only when clearly needed during the first six months of pregnancy; Its not recommended for use during last three months of pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor before using this med. it medication passes into breast milk. Consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.

    Mag Phen med interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of every prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: probenecid, sulfinpyrazone, phenylbutazone, 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin, heparin), aspirin & other NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen), acetazolamide, diabetes medications (e.g., sulfonylureas such as chlorpropamide, tolbutamide), methotrexate. Also report use of drugs that cause drowsiness such as: sleeping meds, sedatives, tranquilizers, anti-anxiety tablets, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines, anti-seizure drugs (e.g. phenytoin), muscle relaxants, antihistamines that cause drowsiness (e.g., diphenhydramine). cash labels on every you're medicines (e.g., cough-and-cold products or pain relievers/fever reducers) because they may contain drowsiness-causing ingredients, or aspirin-like NSAIDs. Ask some your physician about the safe use of those products. it pill may interfere with certain laboratory tests, including certain urine sugar tests for diabetics (such as Clinistix, Tes-Tape or Clinitest). Inform laboratory personnel that you are taking it drug. Ask your physician for more details. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or doctor approval.

    Mag Phen Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea, vomiting, excessive sweating, quick or deep breathing, ringing in ears, abnormal behavior, exhaustion, and loss about consciousness.

    Mag Phen special notes: do not share this tablet with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests (e.g. liver function tests) may be performed to monitor your progress.

    If you missed Mag Phen dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as you remember. If this is near time about the next dose, skip missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.

    Mag Phen Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light & moisture.
