Ibuprofen Ib Usage: Ibuprofen is nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which relieves pain and swelling (inflammation). It's used to treat headaches, muscle aches, backaches, dental pain, menstrual cramps, arthritis, or athletic injuries. this medication is also used to reduce fever and to relieve minor aches & pain due to common cold or flu. this medication works by blocking enzyme in your body that makes prostaglandins. Decreasing prostaglandins helps to reduce pain, swelling, & fever.

How to use Ibuprofen Ib: Take this medication by mouth with full glass (8 oz or 240 ml) of water unless your doctor directs you otherwise. do not lie down since at least 30 minutes after taking it drug. If stomach upset occurs while taking this drug, take it with food, milk, or an antacid. dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy. If repeat doses needed, they usually given six or 8 hours apart; or as directed by your doctor. When ibuprofen is used in children, the dose is based on your child's weight. Read the product instructions to find appropriate dose for your child's weight. Consult pharmacist or doctor if you have questions or if you need help at choosing appropriate dosage form. in certain conditions (e.g., arthritis), it may take up to 2 weeks, taken regularly, before full benefits of this medication take effect. Ibuprofen Ib side effects: Upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, headache, diarrhea, constipation, drowsiness, & dizziness may occur. If any about these effects persist or worsen, notify youre healthcare professional or doctor promptly. Tell you're physician immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: stomach pain, swelling about the hands or feet, sudden or unexplained weight gain, ringing in ears (tinnitus). Tell youre doctor immediately if any about these unlikely but serious side effects occur: vision changes, rapid or pounding heartbeat, simple bruising or bleeding. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: change in amount of urine, severe headache, very stiff neck, mental/mood changes, persistent sore throat or fever. this pill may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from the stomach or intestines. If you notice any of the following unlikely but very serious side effects, stop taking ibuprofen & consult you're physician or physician immediately: black stools, persistent stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds. this drug may rarely cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease. If you notice any of following highly unlikely but very serious side effects, stop taking ibuprofen and consult your healthcare professional or healthcare professional immediately: yellowing eyes and skin, dark urine, unusual/extreme tiredness. An allergic reaction to it drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if this occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact you're physician or physician.

Ibuprofen Ib Precautions: it medication should not be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medicine, consult your pharmacist or doctor if you have: severe kidney disease, allergies to aspirin or other NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib). Before using it medication, tell your doctor or physician your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, liver disease, poorly controlled diabetes, stomach problems (e.g., bleeding, ulcers), heart disease (e.g., congestive heart failure), HBP, swelling (edema, fluid retention), dehydration, blood disorders (e.g., anemia), bleeding or clotting problems, asthma, growths in nose (nasal polyps), history of an allergic reaction with symptoms about lip/tongue/throat swelling (angioedema), any allergies in addition to those listed above. this med may make you dizzy or drowsy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. this medicine can cause stomach bleeding. daily use about alcohol and tobacco, especially when combined with this medicine, may increase your risk for stomach bleeding. Consult your healthcare professional or healthcare professional for more information. this medication may make you more sensitive to the sun. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, tanning booths or sunlamps. Use sunscreen & wear protective clothing when outdoors. Caution is advised when using this drug in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to side effects of drug, especially stomach bleeding & kidney effects. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during the 1st 6 months of pregnancy. it isn't recommended since use during the last 3 months of pregnancy due to the potential since serious fetal harm & interference with normal labor/delivery. Discuss risks & benefits with youre pharmacist. this med passes into breast milk. While there have been no reports of harm to nursing infants, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Ibuprofen Ib drug interactions: Before using this medication, tell your pharmacist or pharmacist of all prescription & nonprescription goods you may use, especially of: alendronate, other drugs for arthritis (e.g., aspirin, methotrexate), 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin), corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), cyclosporine, HBP drugs (including ACE inhibitors such as captopril, angiotensin II receptor antagonists such as losartan, & beta-blockers such as metoprolol), lithium, other NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib), 'water pills' (diuretics such as furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide, triamterene). check all prescription and nonprescription medicine labels carefully since many contain pain relievers/fever reducers (NSAIDs such as aspirin or naproxen) which are similar to this med. If you also taking aspirin, as prescribed by your physician for reasons such as heart attack or stroke prevention (usually these dosages 81-325 mg per day), continue to take aspirin and consult your healthcare professional or pharmacist before taking ibuprofen. do not start or stop any medicine with out physician or healthcare professional approval.

Ibuprofen Ib Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe stomach pain, coffee ground-like vomit, unusually fast or slow heartbeat, trouble breathing, extreme drowsiness, loss of consciousness, or seizures.

If you missed Ibuprofen Ib dose: If you prescribed this drug on regular schedule (not just 'as needed') & you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near time of next dose, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
