Ibu Profen Usage: Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication (NSAID), which relieves pain and swelling (inflammation). It's used to treat headaches, muscle aches, backaches, dental pain, menstrual cramps, arthritis, or athletic injuries. this drug is also used to reduce fever & to relieve minor aches & pain due to common cold or flu. this drug works by blocking the enzyme in some your body that makes prostaglandins. Decreasing prostaglandins helps to reduce pain, swelling, & fever.
How to use Ibu Profen: Take this medication by mouth with full glass (8 oz or 240 ml) of water unless youre doctor directs you otherwise. do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking this med. If stomach upset occurs while taking it medication, take this with food, milk, or an antacid. the dosage is based on your medical condition & response to therapy. If repeat doses needed, they are usually given 6 or 8 hours apart; or as directed by your pharmacist. When ibuprofen is used at children, dose is based on some your child's weight. Read the product instructions to find appropriate dose for your child's weight. Consult the pharmacist or doctor if you have questions or if you need help in choosing appropriate dosage form. in certain conditions (e.g., arthritis), it may take up to two weeks, taken regularly, before full benefits of this pill take effect. If you use this medication since migraine headache, & the pain is not relieved or worsens after first dose, tell your doctor immediately. for nonprescription ibuprofen goods: If you treating yourself or giving it drug to a child for undiagnosed fever or pain, consult doctor immediately if symptoms don't improve within 24 hours, worsen or last for more than 3 days, or if new symptoms appear.
Ibu Profen side effects: Upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, headache, diarrhea, constipation, drowsiness, & dizziness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or physician promptly. Tell some your doctor immediately if any about these serious side effects occur: stomach pain, swelling of the hands or feet, sudden or unexplained weight gain, ringing at the ears (tinnitus). Tell your pharmacist immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: vision changes, rapid or pounding heartbeat, easy bruising or bleeding. Tell you're doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: change in amount of urine, severe headache, very stiff neck, mental/mood changes, persistent sore throat or fever. this pill may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from the stomach or intestines. If you notice any of following unlikely but very serious side effects, stop taking ibuprofen & consult youre healthcare professional or healthcare professional immediately: black stools, persistent stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds. this tablet may rarely cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease. If you notice any of the next highly unlikely but very serious side effects, stop taking ibuprofen & consult some your pharmacist or doctor immediately: yellowing eyes and skin, dark urine, unusual/extreme tiredness. An allergic reaction to this medication is unlikely, but seek immeditial medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.
Ibu Profen Precautions: it medication shouldn't be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medicine, consult your healthcare professional or physician if you have: severe kidney disease, allergies to aspirin or other NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib). Before using this medication, tell some your healthcare professional or doctor some your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, liver disease, poorly controlled diabetes, stomach problems (e.g., bleeding, ulcers), heart disease (e.g., congestive heart failure), high blood pressure, swelling (edema, fluid retention), dehydration, blood disorders (e.g., anemia), bleeding or clotting problems, asthma, growths in nose (nasal polyps), history of an allergic reaction with symptoms of lip/tongue/throat swelling (angioedema), any allergies in addition to those listed above. this drug may make you dizzy or drowsy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. this medicine can cause stomach bleeding. daily use about alcohol & tobacco, especially when combined with this medicine, may increase your risk for stomach bleeding. Consult your physician or doctor for more info. this medication may make you more sensitive to sun. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, tanning booths or sunlamps. Use sunscreen & wear protective clothing when outdoors. Caution is advised when using this drug in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to side effects of medication, especially stomach bleeding and kidney effects. this tablet should be used only when clearly needed during first 6 months about pregnancy. it is not recommended for use during the last 3 months about pregnancy due to potential since serious fetal harm & interference with normal labor/delivery. Discuss risks & benefits with some your doctor. this medication passes into breast milk. While theyre have been no reports about harm to nursing infants, consult you're physician before breast-feeding.
Ibu Profen medication interactions: Before using this drug, tell your healthcare professional or pharmacist about every prescription and nonprescription goods you may use, especially of: alendronate, another drugs for arthritis (e.g., aspirin, methotrexate), 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin), corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), cyclosporine, high blood pressure medications (including ACE inhibitors such as captopril, angiotensin II receptor antagonists such as losartan, & beta-blockers such as metoprolol), lithium, other NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib), 'water pills' (diuretics such as furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide, triamterene). check every prescription and nonprescription medicine labels carefully since much contain pain relievers/fever reducers (NSAIDs such as aspirin or naproxen) which similar to this med. If you are also taking aspirin, as prescribed by your healthcare professional for reasons such as heart attack or stroke prevention (usually these dosages are 81-325 mg per day), continue to take aspirin & consult some your physician or healthcare professional before taking ibuprofen. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Ibu Profen Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe stomach pain, coffee ground-like vomit, unusually quick or slow heartbeat, trouble breathing, extreme drowsiness, loss of consciousness, or seizures.

If you missed Ibu Profen dose: If you are prescribed this drug on regular schedule (not just 'as needed') & you miss dose, use this as soon as you remember. If this is near time of following dose, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Ibu Profen Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light and moisture. don't store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from kid & pets.
