    Motrin Usage: Ibuprofen is nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which relieves pain and swelling (inflammation). this is used to treat headaches, muscle aches, backaches, dental pain, menstrual cramps, arthritis, or athletic injuries. it med is also used to reduce fever & to relieve minor aches and pain due to the common cold or flu. this drug works by blocking enzyme at your body that makes prostaglandins. Decreasing prostaglandins helps to reduce pain, swelling, and fever.

    How to use Motrin: Take this drug by mouth with a full glass (8 oz or 240 ml) about water unless you're doctor directs you otherwise. don't lie down for in least 30 minutes after taking this pill. If stomach upset occurs while taking this pill, take this with food, milk, or an antacid. the dosage is based on your medical condition & response to therapy. If repeat doses needed, they usually given 6 or 8 hours apart; or as directed by your healthcare professional. When ibuprofen is used in children, dose is based on your child's weight. Read the product instructions to find the appropriate dose for your child's weight. Consult healthcare professional or doctor if you have questions or if you need help in choosing appropriate dosage form. at certain conditions (e.g., arthritis), it may take up to two weeks, taken regularly, before the full benefits of this drug take effect. If you use this med for migraine headache, & pain is not relieved or worsens after the 1-st dose, tell you're doctor immediately. for nonprescription ibuprofen products: If you are treating yourself or giving this pill to child since undiagnosed fever or pain, consult doctor immediately if symptoms do not improve within 24 hours, worsen or last for more than 3 days, or if new symptoms appear.

    Motrin side effects: Upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, headache, diarrhea, constipation, drowsiness, & dizziness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your physician or physician promptly. Tell your pharmacist immediately if any about these serious side effects occur: stomach pain, swelling of the hands or feet, sudden or unexplained weight gain, ringing in the ears (tinnitus). Tell you're doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: vision changes, rapid or pounding heartbeat, easy bruising or bleeding. Tell you're pharmacist immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: change in amount about urine, severe headache, very stiff neck, mental/mood changes, persistent sore throat or fever. this med may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from stomach or intestines. If you notice any of the following unlikely but very serious side effects, stop taking ibuprofen & consult your pharmacist or physician immediately: black stools, persistent stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds. this drug may rarely cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease. If you notice any of following highly unlikely but very serious side effects, stop taking ibuprofen and consult your pharmacist or pharmacist immediately: yellowing eyes & skin, dark urine, unusual/extreme tiredness. An allergic reaction to this pill is unlikely, but seek immediate doctor attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

    Motrin Precautions: this pill should not be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medicine, consult your pharmacist or doctor if you have: severe kidney disease, allergies to aspirin or other NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib). Before using it medication, tell your healthcare professional or doctor your medical history, especially about: kidney disease, liver disease, poorly controlled diabetes, stomach problems (e.g., bleeding, ulcers), heart disease (e.g., congestive heart failure), HBP, swelling (edema, fluid retention), dehydration, blood disorders (e.g., anemia), bleeding or clotting problems, asthma, growths in the nose (nasal polyps), history about an allergic reaction with symptoms of lip/tongue/throat swelling (angioedema), any allergies at addition to those listed above. this drug may make you dizzy or drowsy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. it medicine may cause stomach bleeding. daily use of alcohol & tobacco, especially when combined with this medicine, may increase your risk for stomach bleeding. Consult youre doctor or healthcare professional for more information. this drug may make you more sensitive to sun. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, tanning booths or sunlamps. Use sunscreen & wear protective clothing when outdoors. Caution is advised when using this drug in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to side effects about drug, especially stomach bleeding & kidney effects. this tablet should be used only when clearly needed during 1-st six months about pregnancy. it isn't recommended for use during last 3 months about pregnancy due to potential for fetal and serious harm & interference with normal labor/delivery. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor. this medication passes in to breast milk. While their have been no reports about harm to nursing infants, consult you're doctor before breast-feeding.

    Motrin pill interactions: Before using this med, tell youre healthcare professional or pharmacist of all prescription & nonprescription goods you may use, especially of: alendronate, other tablets for arthritis (e.g., aspirin, methotrexate), 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin), corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), cyclosporine, high blood pressure meds (including ACE inhibitors such as captopril, angiotensin II receptor antagonists such as losartan, & beta-blockers such as metoprolol), lithium, other NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib), 'water pills' (diuretics such as furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide, triamterene). money all prescription & nonprescription medicine labels carefully since many contain pain relievers/fever reducers (NSAIDs such as aspirin or naproxen) which similar to this drug. If you also taking aspirin, as prescribed by your physician for reasons such as heart attack or stroke prevention (usually these dosages 81-325 mg per day), continue to take the aspirin & consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking ibuprofen. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.

    Motrin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe stomach pain, coffee ground-like vomit, unusually quick or slow heartbeat, trouble breathing, extreme drowsiness, loss of consciousness, or seizures.

    Motrin special notes: do not share this med with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed periodically to monitor your progress or cash for side effects. Consult your healthcare professional for more details.

    If you missed Motrin dose: If you prescribed it drug on regular schedule (not just 'as needed') & you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near clock about next dose, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.

    Motrin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light and moisture. do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children & pets.
