    Motrin Usage: Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which relieves pain & swelling (inflammation). this medication is used in child to reduce fever & to relieve minor aches & pain. this drug works by blocking the enzyme in your body that makes prostaglandins. Decreasing prostaglandins helps to reduce pain, swelling, and fever. do not give this drug to children younger than 6 months about age unless directed to do so by the pharmacist.

    How to use Motrin: Shake bottle well before each dose. Measure out each dose carefully with the dropper provided. Give it med by mouth with food or immediately after a meal as directed. Follow each dose with milk, juice, or formula. Keep child from lying down for at least 30 minutes after taking this pill. dosage is based on your child's weight, medical condition, and response to therapy. Read the product instructions to find the appropriate dose for youre child's weight, or consult the healthcare professional or pharmacist if you have questions. If repeat doses needed, they are usually given six or 8 hours apart; or as directed by doctor. in certain conditions (e.g., arthritis), it may take up to two weeks, taken regularly, before full benefits about it drug take effect. If you are giving this medication to child since undiagnosed fever or pain, consult pharmacist immediately if symptoms do not improve within 24 hours, worsen or last for more than 3 days, or if new symptoms appear.

    Motrin side effects: Upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, headache, diarrhea, constipation, drowsiness, & dizziness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify doctor or pharmacist promptly. Tell healthcare professional immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: stomach pain, swelling about the hands or feet, sudden or unexplained weight gain, ringing at the ears (tinnitus). Tell doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: vision changes, rapid or pounding heartbeat, easy bruising or bleeding. Tell healthcare professional immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: change at amount of urine, severe headache, very stiff neck, mental/mood changes, persistent sore throat or fever. it drug may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from the stomach or intestines. If you notice any of the following unlikely but very serious side effects, stop giving ibuprofen and consult the physician or pharmacist immediately: black stools, persistent stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds. this drug may rarely cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease. If you notice any of the next highly unlikely but very serious side effects, stop giving ibuprofen & consult healthcare professional or pharmacist immediately: yellowing eyes and skin, dark urine, unusual/extreme tiredness. An allergic reaction to this med is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if this occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact the doctor or doctor.

    Motrin Precautions: this medication shouldn't be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medicine, consult the doctor or pharmacist if your child has: severe kidney disease, allergies to aspirin or other NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib). Before using this drug, tell the healthcare professional or doctor your child's medical history, especially of: kidney disease, liver disease, poorly controlled diabetes, stomach problems (e.g., bleeding, ulcers), heart disease (e.g., congestive heart failure), high blood pressure, swelling (edema, fluid retention), dehydration, blood disorders (e.g., anemia), bleeding or clotting problems, asthma, growths in nose (nasal polyps), history of an allergic reaction with symptoms of lip/tongue/throat swelling (angioedema), any allergies in addition to those listed above. this medication may make you dizzy or drowsy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness. Limit alcohol intake as it may intensify the side effects of this medication. it drug may make you more sensitive to the sun. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, tanning booths or sunlamps. Use sunscreen & wear protective clothing when outdoors. this product may contain sugar. Caution is advised if you have diabetes. Ask the physician or pharmacist about the safe use of this product. Caution is advised when using it drug in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to side effects of drug, especially stomach bleeding & kidney effects. this medication must be used only when clearly needed during the 1'st 6 months of pregnancy. it isn't recommended for use during last 3 months of pregnancy due to potential for serious fetal harm and interference with normal labor/delivery. Discuss the risks and benefits with you're physician. this drug passes into breast milk. While their have been no reports of harm to nursing infants, consult some your pharmacist before breast-feeding.

    Motrin tablet interactions: Before using this medication, tell pharmacist or pharmacist of all prescription & nonprescription products your child may use, especially of: alendronate, other meds for arthritis (e.g., aspirin, methotrexate), 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin), corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), cyclosporine, high blood pressure drugs (including ACE inhibitors such as captopril, angiotensin II receptor antagonists such as losartan, & beta-blockers such as metoprolol), lithium, another NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib), 'water pills' (diuretics such as furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide, triamterene). cash every prescription & nonprescription medicine labels carefully since many contain pain relievers/fever reducers (NSAIDs such as aspirin or naproxen) which similar to this drug. Ask the pharmacist or physician of safe use about those products. don't start or stop any medicine with out doctor or pharmacist approval.

    Motrin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include: severe stomach pain, coffee ground-like vomit, unusually fast or slow heartbeat, trouble breathing, extreme drowsiness, loss of consciousness, or seizures.

    Motrin special notes: do not share this tablet with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed periodically to monitor some your child's progress or check for side effects. Consult doctor for more details.

    If you missed Motrin dose: If you are prescribed this drug on regular schedule (not just 'as needed') & you miss dose, give this as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of following dose, skip missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.

    Motrin Storage: Store at room temperature according to product directions away from light and moisture. do not store in bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children & pets.
