Infant Glycerin Usage: this drug is used to treat constipation.
How to use Infant Glycerin: Unwrap suppository & moisten with lukewarm water. Lie down on your left side with the right knee bent (if left-handed, lie on the right side with the left knee bent). Push suppository into the rectum with your finger. do not use more of this medication than directed on the package label or by your pharmacist. do not use for longer than 1 week unless directed by you're doctor. Consult your doctor or pharmacist. Laxatives should only be used temporarily until normal bowel habits return. Prolonged use can lead to laxative dependence.
Infant Glycerin side effects: Skin irritation or burning around the rectum may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Very unlikely but report promptly: blood in stools, persistent urge to empty the bowel, persistent diarrhea. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Infant Glycerin Precautions: Tell your pharmacist you're medical history, including: allergies, undiagnosed stomach pain, nausea or vomiting. it medication must be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor. It's not known if glycerin is excreted in to breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Infant Glycerin pill interactions: Tell you're healthcare professional of all nonprescription & prescription med you may use, especially of: other laxatives. do not start or stop any medicine with-out doctor or doctor approval.
Infant Glycerin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed. If you or someone you know may have taken it medicine by mouth, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Infant Glycerin special notes: don't share it medication with others. To prevent constipation drink 4 to 6 glasses of water daily, include bulk or roughage in some your diet & exercise regularly.
If you missed Infant Glycerin dose: Generally, this tablet is only used 'as needed'. Consult your pharmacist for more information.
Infant Glycerin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from heat, light & moisture.
