Provil Usage: Ibuprofen is nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which relieves pain & swelling (inflammation). it is used to treat headaches, muscle aches, backaches, dental pain, menstrual cramps, arthritis, or athletic injuries. this med is also used to reduce fever & to relieve minor aches & pain due to the common cold or flu. this medication works by blocking the enzyme in your body that makes prostaglandins. Decreasing prostaglandins helps to reduce pain, swelling, & fever.
How to use Provil: Take this medication by mouth with full glass (8 oz or 240 ml) of water unless your pharmacist directs you otherwise. don't lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking this medication. If stomach upset occurs while taking this medication, take it with food, milk, or an antacid. dosage is based on your medical condition & response to therapy. If repeat doses needed, they are usually given 6 or 8 hours apart; or as directed by your physician. When ibuprofen is used in kid, dose is based on your child's weight. Read the product instructions to find the appropriate dose for you're child's weight. Consult the doctor or pharmacist if you have questions or if you need help at choosing appropriate dosage form. in certain conditions (e.g., arthritis), it may take up to two weeks, taken regularly, before full benefits of this drug take effect. If you use this drug for migraine headache, and the pain isn't relieved or worsens after 1st dose, tell your doctor immediately. for nonprescription ibuprofen products: If you treating yourself or giving it medication to a kid for undiagnosed fever or pain, consult the pharmacist immediately if symptoms do not improve within 24 hours, worsen or last for more than 3 days, or if new symptoms appear.
Provil side effects: Upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, headache, diarrhea, constipation, drowsiness, & dizziness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: stomach pain, swelling of hands or feet, sudden or unexplained weight gain, ringing in ears (tinnitus). Tell some your doctor immediately if any about these unlikely but serious side effects occur: vision changes, rapid or pounding heartbeat, easy bruising or bleeding. Tell your healthcare professional immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: change in amount about urine, severe headache, very stiff neck, mental/mood changes, persistent sore throat or fever. this medication may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from the stomach or intestines. If you notice any of following unlikely but very serious side effects, stop taking ibuprofen and consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately: black stools, persistent stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds. this med may rarely cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease. If you notice any of following highly unlikely but very serious side effects, stop taking ibuprofen & consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately: yellowing eyes & skin, dark urine, unusual/extreme tiredness. An allergic reaction to it med is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Provil Precautions: this medication should not be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medicine, consult your doctor or doctor if you have: severe kidney disease, allergies to aspirin or other NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib). Before using this medication, tell some your pharmacist or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, liver disease, poorly controlled diabetes, stomach problems (e.g., bleeding, ulcers), heart disease (e.g., congestive heart failure), HBP, swelling (edema, fluid retention), dehydration, blood disorders (e.g., anemia), bleeding or clotting problems, asthma, growths in the nose (nasal polyps), history of an allergic reaction with symptoms of lip/tongue/throat swelling (angioedema), any allergies at addition to those listed above. this medication may make you dizzy or drowsy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. it medicine may cause stomach bleeding. daily use about alcohol & tobacco, especially when combined with this medicine, may increase your risk since stomach bleeding. Consult your physician or pharmacist for more info. it drug may make you more sensitive to the sun. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, tanning booths or sunlamps. Use a sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors. Caution is advised when using this drug in elderly because they may be more sensitive to the side effects about the medication, especially stomach bleeding & kidney effects. this pill should be used only when clearly needed during 1'st 6 months of pregnancy. this isnot recommended for use during last 3 months of pregnancy due to the potential for fetal harm & interference with normal labor/delivery. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor. this medication passes into breast milk. While there have been no reports of harm to nursing infants, consult some your doctor before breast-feeding.
Provil pill interactions: Before using it drug, tell your physician or doctor of every prescription and nonprescription products you may use, especially of: alendronate, other medications for arthritis (e.g., aspirin, methotrexate), 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin), corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), cyclosporine, HBP medications (including ACE inhibitors such as captopril, angiotensin II receptor antagonists such as losartan, and beta-blockers such as metoprolol), lithium, other NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib), 'water pills' (diuretics such as furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide, triamterene). cash all prescription & nonprescription medicine labels carefully since many of contain pain relievers/fever reducers (NSAIDs such as aspirin or naproxen) which are similar to it drug. If you also taking aspirin, as prescribed by your pharmacist for reasons such as heart attack or stroke prevention (usually these dosages are 81-325 mg per day), continue to take the aspirin & consult your healthcare professional or pharmacist before taking ibuprofen. don't start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Provil Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe stomach pain, coffee ground-like vomit, unusually quick or slow heartbeat, trouble breathing, extreme drowsiness, loss of consciousness, or seizures.
Provil special notes: do not share this med with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed periodically to monitor your progress or check for side effects. Consult youre doctor for more details.
If you missed Provil dose: If you prescribed it drug on regular schedule (not just 'as needed') & you miss a dose, use this as soon as you remember. If it is near the clock of the following dose, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Provil Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light & moisture. do not store in the bathroom. Keep every medicines away from children & pets.
