Lodine Xl Usage: Etodolac is used to treat the pain and swelling associated with conditions such as arthritis, bursitis & tendonitis.
How to use Lodine Xl: Take exactly as directed to minimize risk of side effects. Take with food. Swallow meds whole. don't crush or chew them. this med is usually taken once daily. Take this med with 6 to 8 ounces (180-240ml) of water. do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking this tablet. in arthritis, it may take one to 2 weeks before the full effects of this tablet are noted. for best results, this should be taken regularly as directed by some your pharmacist.
Lodine Xl side effects: much of side effects observed mild & usually disappear after short time. Diarrhea, gas, constipation, upset stomach or headache may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your physician. Unlikely but report promptly: vision changes, yellowing of skin or eyes, fever, mood changes, dizziness, ringing in ears. Very unlikely but report: unusual bleeding or bruising, persistent sore throat, unusual change in urine amount. If you notice any of the following unlikely but very serious side effects, stop taking this drug & consult some your pharmacist or doctor immediately: black stools, persistent stomach/ abdominal pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds. in unlikely part you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Lodine Xl Precautions: Tell your pharmacist your medical history, especially of: liver or kidney disease, blood disorders, ulcers, heart disease, alcohol use, hypertension, eye disease, asthma, nasal polyps, any allergies - especially aspirin/NSAID allergy (e.g., ibuprofen, celecoxib). Use caution when performing tasks requiring alertness. Limit alcohol intake as this may intensify drowsiness effect of it drug. this medicine can cause stomach bleeding. daily use of alcohol, especially when combined with this medicine, may increase your risk since stomach bleeding. check with your physician or pharmacist for more information. Infrequently, this drug may increase skin's sensitivity to sunlight. If this happens to you, avoid prolonged sun exposure, wear protective clothing and use a sunscreen. Avoid sunlamps. Caution is advised when this med is used in elderly. this drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Discuss the risks & benefits with youre healthcare professional. Use of this drug at last 6 months about pregnancy isn't recommended. Its unknown if etodolac is excreted in to breast milk. Consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Lodine Xl medication interactions: Tell your doctor or healthcare professional about all other tablets you take (both prescription and nonprescription), especially of: blood thinners (warfarin), another arthritis drugs, drugs used for inflammation (including aspirin), methotrexate, water pills, digoxin, lithium, cyclosporine. do not take aspirin without consulting your healthcare professional. money the ingredients of all nonprescription meds you may be taking since many cough-and-cold formulas contain aspirin. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Lodine Xl Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include severe stomach pain, coffee ground-like vomit, dark stool, ringing in ears, change in amount about urine, unusually quick or slow heartbeat, muscle weakness, slow or shallow breathing, confusion, severe headache or loss of consciousness.
Lodine Xl special notes: do not allow anyone else to use this med. youre physician may monitor kidney, liver and blood cell test periodically. False-positive results for urine tests (bilirubin & ketones) may occur when taking etodolac.
If you missed Lodine Xl dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered but not if it is almost time for the following dose. Instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Lodine Xl Storage: Store this medication at controlled room temperature between 68 to 77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C) away from heat, light and moisture. do not store in bathroom.
