Naproxen Usage: Naproxen is nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which relieves pain & swelling (inflammation). it is used to treat headaches, muscle aches, backaches, tendonitis, bursitis, dental pain, menstrual cramps, arthritis, or gout. this tablet is also used to reduce fever & to relieve minor aches & pain due to the common cold or flu. this drug works by blocking enzyme in youre body that makes prostaglandins. Decreasing prostaglandins helps to reduce pain, swelling, and fever. don't give nonprescription products containing this medication to child younger than 12 years of age unless directed to do so by the doctor.
How to use Naproxen: Take this medication by mouth with full glass (8 oz or 240 ml)of water unless youre physician directs you otherwise. do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking this drug. If stomach upset occurs while taking this medication, take this with food, milk, or an antacid. dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy. at certain conditions (e.g., arthritis), this may take up to two weeks, taken regularly, before the full benefits of it drug take effect. If you use this medication for migraine headache, & the pain isnt relieved or worsens after first dose, tell your pharmacist immediately. for nonprescription goods: If you are treating yourself or giving this drug to kid for undiagnosed fever or pain, consult the doctor immediately if symptoms do not improve within 24 hours, worsen or last for more than 3 days, or if new symptoms appear.
Naproxen side effects: Upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, headache, diarrhea, constipation, drowsiness, and dizziness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify you're pharmacist or physician promptly. Tell you're doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: stomach pain, swelling about the hands or feet, sudden or unexplained weight gain, ringing in ears (tinnitus). Tell you're pharmacist immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: vision changes, rapid or pounding heartbeat, easy bruising or bleeding. Tell your pharmacist immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: change in amount of urine, severe headache, very stiff neck, mental/mood changes, persistent sore throat or fever. this drug may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from the stomach or intestines. If you notice any of the following unlikely but very serious side effects, stop taking naproxen & consult your pharmacist or pharmacist immediately: black stools, persistent stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks love coffee grounds. this med may rarely cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease. If you notice any of following highly unlikely but very serious side effects, stop taking naproxen and consult your physician or pharmacist immediately: yellowing eyes & skin, dark urine, unusual/extreme tiredness. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or healthcare professional.
Naproxen Precautions: this drug should not be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using it medicine, consult you're healthcare professional or pharmacist if you have: severe kidney disease, allergies to aspirin or other NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, celecoxib). Before using it medication, tell your healthcare professional or doctor your medical history, especially about: kidney disease, liver disease, poorly controlled diabetes, stomach problems (e.g., bleeding, ulcers), heart disease (e.g., congestive heart failure), HBP, swelling (edema, fluid retention), dehydration, blood disorders (e.g., anemia), bleeding or clotting problems, asthma, growths in nose (nasal polyps), history of an allergic reaction with symptoms of lip/tongue/throat swelling (angioedema), any allergies in addition to those listed above. this drug contains salt (sodium). Tell some your pharmacist if you are on salt-restricted diet. this tablet may make you dizzy or drowsy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. this medicine may cause stomach bleeding. per day use about alcohol & tobacco, especially when combined with it medicine, may increase your risk for stomach bleeding. Consult your physician or healthcare professional for more info. this drug may make you more sensitive to sun. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, tanning booths or sunlamps. Use a sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors. Caution is advised when using it drug in elderly because they may be more sensitive to side effects of the pill, especially stomach bleeding and kidney effects. this medication must be used only when clearly needed during the 1'st six months of pregnancy. It's not recommended for use during last 3 months about pregnancy due to potential for serious harm & interference with normal labor/delivery. Discuss risks & benefits with your physician. it med passes into breast milk. While there have been no reports of harm to nursing infants, consult some your physician before breast-feeding.
Naproxen drug interactions: Before using this medication, tell youre physician or doctor of all prescription & nonprescription goods you may use, especially of: alendronate, other medications since arthritis (e.g., aspirin, methotrexate), 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin), corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), cyclosporine, high blood pressure drugs (including ACE inhibitors such as captopril, angiotensin II receptor antagonists such as losartan, & beta-blockers such as metoprolol), lithium, other NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, celecoxib), probenecid, 'water pills' (diuretics such as furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide, triamterene). it product can affect results about certain lab tests. Make sure laboratory personnel & youre healthcare professionals know you use this drug. bucks all prescription and nonprescription medicine labels carefully since many contain pain relievers/fever reducers (NSAIDs such as aspirin or ibuprofen) which are similar to this pill. Aspirin, as prescribed by youre healthcare professional for reasons such as heart attack or stroke prevention (usually these dosages are 81-325 mg per day), should be continued. Naproxen Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe stomach pain, coffee ground-like vomit, unusually fast or slow heartbeat, trouble breathing, extreme drowsiness, loss of consciousness, or seizures.

If you missed Naproxen dose: If you prescribed this tablet on regular schedule (not just 'as needed') & you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If Its near the time of next dose, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't double dose to catch up.
Naproxen Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light & moisture. do not store in the bathroom. Keep every medicines away from child & pets.
