Gual Dex Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. this combination medication is used to treat cough associated with the common cold, allergies & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Gual Dex: Take this drug as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take it more much times than directed. Capsules and long-acting tablets must be swallowed whole with full glass of water. don't crush or chew them. the long action will be destroyed and the chance of side effects will be increased.
Gual Dex side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur the first few days as your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform youre doctor. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop any of these effects while taking this medication: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if it drug makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Gual Dex Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your pharmacist. since small amounts about this medication are found in breast milk, consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Gual Dex drug interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine with-out physician or pharmacist approval.
Gual Dex Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.
Gual Dex special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this med. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Gual Dex dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if Its near time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Gual Dex Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
