Cap Profen Usage: Ibuprofen is nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which relieves pain & swelling (inflammation). It's used to treat headaches, muscle aches, backaches, dental pain, menstrual cramps, arthritis, or athletic injuries. it drug is also used to reduce fever & to relieve minor aches & pain due to the common cold or flu. it medication works by blocking enzyme in your body that makes prostaglandins. Decreasing prostaglandins helps to reduce pain, swelling, & fever.
How to use Cap Profen: Take this pill by mouth with a full glass (8 oz or 240 ml) about water unless your healthcare professional directs you otherwise. do not lie down for in least 30 minutes after taking this drug. If stomach upset occurs while taking this medication, take it with food, milk, or an antacid. the dosage is based on your medical condition & response to therapy. If repeat doses needed, they are usually given 6 or 8 hours apart; or as directed by some your healthcare professional. When ibuprofen is used in child, the dose is based on your child's weight. Read the product instructions to find the appropriate dose for your child's weight. Consult the physician or doctor if you have questions or if you need help in choosing the appropriate dosage form. at certain conditions (e.g., arthritis), this may take up to two weeks, taken regularly, before full benefits of this pill take effect. If you use this tablet for migraine headache, and pain is not relieved or worsens after first dose, tell your doctor immediately. for nonprescription ibuprofen products: If you treating yourself or giving this drug to a kid for undiagnosed fever or pain, consult doctor immediately if symptoms don't improve within 24 hours, worsen or last since more than 3 days, or if new symptoms appear.
Cap Profen side effects: Upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, headache, diarrhea, constipation, drowsiness, and dizziness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Tell your healthcare professional immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: stomach pain, swelling of hands or feet, sudden or unexplained weight gain, ringing at ears (tinnitus). Tell you're doctor immediately if any about these unlikely but serious side effects occur: vision changes, rapid or pounding heartbeat, easy bruising or bleeding. Tell your physician immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: change in amount about urine, severe headache, very stiff neck, mental/mood changes, persistent sore throat or fever. this medication may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from stomach or intestines. If you notice any about the following unlikely but very serious side effects, stop taking ibuprofen & consult some your doctor or healthcare professional immediately: black stools, persistent stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks love coffee grounds. this drug may rarely cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease. If you notice any of following highly unlikely but very serious side effects, stop taking ibuprofen & consult your pharmacist or physician immediately: yellowing eyes and skin, dark urine, unusual/extreme tiredness. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Cap Profen Precautions: it med should not be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medicine, consult your pharmacist or pharmacist if you have: severe kidney disease, allergies to aspirin or other NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib). Limit alcoholic beverages. this medicine may cause stomach bleeding. daily use of alcohol & tobacco, especially when combined with it medicine, may increase your risk for stomach bleeding. Consult your doctor or physician for more information. this medication may make you more sensitive to sun. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, tanning booths or sunlamps. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors. Caution is advised when using it drug in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to the side effects about the pill, especially stomach bleeding & kidney effects. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during the 1-st 6 months of pregnancy. it isn't recommended for use during last 3 months of pregnancy due to the potential for serious fetal harm & interference with normal labor/delivery. Discuss risks and benefits with your physician. it medication passes into breast milk. While they're have been no reports of harm to nursing infants, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Cap Profen drug interactions: Before using this medication, tell you're physician or pharmacist of every prescription & nonprescription products you may use, especially about: alendronate, other drugs for arthritis (e.g., aspirin, methotrexate), 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin), corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), cyclosporine, HBP meds (including ACE inhibitors such as captopril, angiotensin II receptor antagonists such as losartan, and beta-blockers such as metoprolol), lithium, other NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib), 'water pills' (diuretics such as furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide, triamterene). check every prescription and nonprescription medicine labels carefully since many contain pain relievers/fever reducers (NSAIDs such as aspirin or naproxen) which are similar to this drug. If you also taking aspirin, as prescribed by your healthcare professional since reasons such as heart attack or stroke prevention (usually these dosages 81-325 mg per day), continue to take the aspirin & consult your physician or pharmacist before taking ibuprofen. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or doctor approval.
Cap Profen Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include: severe stomach pain, coffee ground-like vomit, unusually fast or slow heartbeat, trouble breathing, extreme drowsiness, loss of consciousness, or seizures.

If you missed Cap Profen dose: If you are prescribed this drug on regular schedule (not just 'as needed') and you miss dose, use it as soon as you remember. If It's near time of following dose, skip the missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. don't double dose to catch up.
