Docusil Usage: this medication helps fluids to mix with stool to keep them from becoming hard or dry. this is used to treat constipation.

How to use Docusil: Swallow capsules and pills whole with full glass of water or juice. the liquid & syrup forms must be given in 6 to 8 ounces of milk or juice to prevent throat irritation. Relief is usually obtained in 1 to 3 days after first dose.

Docusil side effects: this tablet can cause stomach ache, cramping or irritated throat (liquid & syrup forms). If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. Notify your physician if you experience: skin rash, rectal bleeding, lack of bowel movements. Frequent use of laxatives can cause dehydration and loss of essential nutrients. Symptoms include muscle cramps, muscle weakness or dizziness. Maintain an adequate fluid intake while using this med. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.

Docusil Precautions: do not take aspirin (unless prescribed by your doctor) or mineral oil while taking stool softeners. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, do not take over-the-counter stool softeners (or any other nonprescription medication) without obtaining your doctor's advice.

Docusil medication interactions: this drug is not recommended for use with mineral oil. Ask your healthcare professional or pharmacist for more details. Tell youre physician of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially aspirin.

Docusil Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Docusil special notes: Laxatives should only be used temporarily until normal bowel habits return. Prolonged use can lead to laxative dependence. To prevent constipation: drink 4 to 6 glasses of water daily, include bulk or roughage at your diet, & exercise regularly.

If you missed Docusil dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; don't take if it is almost clock for the following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Docusil Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight & moisture.
