    Loteprednol - ophthalmic suspension

    (low-tay-pred-nall)

    common brand names: Alrex, Lotemax

    Lotemax Usage: this tablet is used to treat swelling (inflammation) of eye & to reduce swelling after eye surgery.

    How to use Lotemax: it med is generally used four times daily; or as directed by you're healthcare professional. To apply eye drops, wash hands first. To avoid contamination, do not touch dropper tip or let this touch your eye or any other surface. Shake the suspension well before each use. Tilt you're head back, gaze upward and pull down lower eyelid to make pouch. Place dropper directly over eye & administer the prescribed number of drops. see downward & gently close your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Place one finger at the corner of eye near nose & apply gentle pressure. it will prevent medication from draining away from eye. Try not to blink & do not rub eye. do not rinse dropper. Replace cap after use. If you using another kind about eye drop, wait at least five minutes before applying another medications. Administer eye drops before eye ointments, to allow the eye drops to enter the eye. for best results, this medication should be used routinely as directed. Continue using this for full clock prescribed. If swelling is not improved in 2 days, consult your healthcare professional. If this product is used since longer then 10 days, eye (intraocular) pressure, & the eye lens should be monitored. Consult your eye physician. don't wear soft contact lenses while using it med.

    Lotemax side effects: burning sensation when applying drops, blurred vision, dry eyes, itching, redness, tearing, headache, runny nose, or sore throat may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify youre doctor promptly. Tell you're pharmacist immediately if you have any about these highly unlikely but very serious side effects: persistent eye discomfort/ redness/pain, persistent vision changes. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your doctor or healthcare professional.

    Lotemax Precautions: Tell some your pharmacist your medical history, including: allergies, eye infections (e.g., viral, mycobacterial, fungal), glaucoma, cataracts. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor. It's not known whether this drug passes into breast milk. Consult you're healthcare professional before breast-feeding.

    Lotemax med interactions: Tell your doctor about all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially: other eye medications. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

    Lotemax Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

    Lotemax special notes: do not share it medication with others.

    If you missed Lotemax dose: If you miss a dose, use this as soon as you remember. If It's near the time of the next dose, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.

    Lotemax Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 77 degrees F (15 to 25 degrees C) away from light & moisture.
