    Trifluridine eye drops

    common brand names: Viroptic

    Viroptic Usage: this tablet is used to treat herpes virus infections about the eyes.

    How to use Viroptic: Use this medication in the eyes as directed. To avoid a reoccurrence about infection, finish the prescribed treatment, even if eye looks normal. do not continue using this for longer than prescribed. Apply eye drops to the affected eyes as follows: Wash hands 1'st. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch dropper tip or let this touch youre eye or any other surface. Tilt your head back, gaze upward and pull down lower eyelid to make pouch. Place dropper directly over eye and administer prescribed number of drops. look downward & gently close some your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Place one finger at corner of the eye near the nose & apply gentle pressure. this will prevent the drug from draining away from the eye. Try not to blink & do not rub eye. do not rinse dropper. Replace cap after use. If you are using another kind about eye drop, wait at least five minutes before applying other medications.

    Viroptic side effects: this tablet may temporarily sting or burn your eyes when first applied. If the irritation continues or becomes bothersome or the condition for which this was prescribed does not improve within seven days, inform your physician. Vision may be temporarily unstable since few minutes after applying this. Use caution if driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. Unlikely but if vision problems persist, notify you doctor Notify your healthcare professional if you develop skin rash, itching, eye pain or redness in or around eyes while using it. this may indicate an allergic reaction. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.

    Viroptic Precautions: Tell your physician if you have: other eye problems (including glaucoma or cataracts), infections, any allergies. this med should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor. it is unlikely this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.

    Viroptic medication interactions: Tell you're physician of any nonprescription or prescription medication you use, especially of: other eye medications. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.

    Viroptic Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

    Viroptic special notes: it is best to avoid wearing contact lenses while using this pill.

    If you missed Viroptic dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use it if it is near time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.

    Viroptic Storage: Tightly replace cap after each use. Store at the refrigerator between 36 & 46 degrees F (2 to 8 degrees C). Discard this if the solution isnt clear or colorless.
