Warning: rarely, serious (sometimes fatal) skin rashes have occurred while using this medication. These rashes (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome) more common at child (less than 16 years old) than in adults. Therefore, lamotrigine should only be used in children who have partial seizures or seizures associated with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. Immediately notify youre pharmacist if you develop any type about rash. If this medication is cause of rash, pill must be stopped. Even after stopping it medication, Its still possible for rash to cause permanent or life-threatening scarring along with another problems. possibility about a rash may be increased by using too much of this medication when treatment begins, increasing dose beyond what your physician prescribes during treatment, or taking valproic acid with lamotrigine. most life-threatening rashes have occurred within two to 8 weeks about starting this drug. However, such serious rashes have also occurred after 6 months of use.

Lamictal Usage: this medication helps control seizure disorders. Use of lamotrigine in kid two years of age and older is restricted to those having certain types of seizures (partial or Lennox-Gastaut type).

How to use Lamictal: Take this drug by mouth exactly as prescribed. for best effects, take this drug in evenly spaced times throughout the day & night. this will ensure a constant level about drug in your body. do not take this more often or increase your dose without consulting your pharmacist. do not stop taking it pill suddenly without your doctor's approval since seizures may reoccur. Notify you're physician if seizure control worsens.

Lamictal side effects: Headache, fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, weakness, clumsiness may occur the first several days as your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your physician. If you develop a rash, stop using it drug & seek immediate medical attention. in the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immeditial medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, hives, fever, swollen glands, swelling of the lips or tongue, painful sores in mouth or around the eyes, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Lamictal Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: other illnesses, heart problems, liver problems, kidney problems, allergies (especially med allergies). Sunscreen and/or protective clothing is recommended to protect against possible severe rash triggered by sunlight. Use caution operating machinery or engaging at activities requiring alertness. Limit alcohol intake while taking this drug. this pill must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with you're pharmacist. this med is excreted into breast milk. Due to possible risks to nursing infants, breast-feeding while using it drug isn't recommended. Consult your doctor.

Lamictal drug interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you use, especially about: other medications for seizures (e.g., phenytoin, carbamazepine, valproic acid, phenobarbital, primidone). do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.

Lamictal Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include unusual dizziness, severe headache, unusual sleepiness, & loss about consciousness.

Lamictal special notes: Laboratory tests may be done periodically while taking this tablet to monitor the effects. see your physician regularly.

If you missed Lamictal dose: Try to take each dose at the scheduled time. If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take it if Its near the time for the following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Lamictal Storage: Store this drug at room temperature in 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) away from heat, light and moisture. Brief storage between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 & 30 degrees C) is permitted. do not store in the bathroom. Keep it & all medications out about reach of children.
