Lactulose Usage: this pill is a laxative used to treat constipation.
Lactulose canbe used also since: Lactulose may also be used to treat & prevent complications about liver disease (hepatic encephalopathy).
How to use Lactulose: this med is taken by mouth. To improve taste, dose may be mixed at glass of fruit juice, water or milk. Take this medication as prescribed.
Lactulose side effects: this med can cause gas, belching or stomach cramps. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform you're doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop any of these effects while taking this medication: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Lactulose Precautions: this medication should be used cautiously in children & elderly. If diarrhea results, notify youre healthcare professional. dosage adjustment may be necessary. do not take any other laxative tablets while taking it medication. Frequent or excessive use of laxatives can cause dehydration. Symptoms include: muscle weakness, muscle cramps, dizziness. this drug must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with youre physician. It's not known if this drug appears in breast milk. Consult with your pharmacist before breast-feeding. this medication contains galactose and lactose. Be sure to tell you're physician if you have diabetes.
Lactulose pill interactions: Tell you're healthcare professional of all prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: antibiotics (e.g., neomycin), antacids, other laxatives. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or doctor approval.
Lactulose Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include stomach cramps & diarrhea.
Lactulose special notes: do not share this product with others.
If you missed Lactulose dose: If you miss dose, use this as soon as remembered; do not use if this is almost time for following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Lactulose Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight & moisture. Avoid freezing.
