    Sodium Polystyrene Sulfonate Usage: this medication is used to treat high levels about potassium in body (hyperkalemia).

    How to use Sodium Polystyrene Sulfonate: Shake well before each use. Take by mouth, usually 15 grams (60ml or 2 ounces) 1 to 4 times daily or as directed by your healthcare professional. Dosage is based on your medical condition & response to therapy. don't use salt substitutes without consulting some your doctor.

    Sodium Polystyrene Sulfonate side effects: Nausea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, constipation or diarrhea may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify some your healthcare professional. Unlikely but report promptly: swelling, muscle cramps, dizziness, mental or mood changes. Very unlikely but report promptly: fast/slow/irregular pulse, weakness, muscle spasm. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.

    Sodium Polystyrene Sulfonate Precautions: Tell youre doctor you're medical history, including: allergies, heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, swelling (edema). this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with some your physician. it isnt known whether this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult you're physician before breast-feeding.

    Sodium Polystyrene Sulfonate drug interactions: Tell you're pharmacist of all nonprescription & prescription medication you use, especially about: calcium-, aluminum or magnesium-containing antacids or laxatives, certain 'water pills' (potassium sparing diuretics such as amiloride), digoxin. don't start or stop any medicine with out pharmacist or pharmacist approval.

    Sodium Polystyrene Sulfonate Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

    Sodium Polystyrene Sulfonate special notes: do not share it medication with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed to monitor you're progress.

    If you missed Sodium Polystyrene Sulfonate dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near time about the next dose, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

    Sodium Polystyrene Sulfonate Storage: Store in tight containers at room temperature between 59 - 86 degrees F (15 - 30 degrees C) away from light & moisture.
