Lorazepam Usage: it medication is used for anxiety. it is used to produce drowsiness & reduce anxiety prior to surgical or medical procedures. it may also be used in treatment of seizure disorders, severe headache, alcohol withdrawal or to prevent nausea from cancer treatment.
How to use Lorazepam: this medication is given by injection by health care professional. the dose and frequency about use will depend on your condition and response. Long-term or excessive use of this medication may cause dependency. Use only as directed.
Lorazepam side effects: it drug may cause drowsiness, dizziness, lack of coordination, grogginess, headache, nausea, dry mouth, blurred vision & irritation or redness in the injection site. If these effects continue or become severe, contact your physician. Notify your doctor if you experience: hallucinations, confusion, depression, yellowing of eyes, slow pulse, chest pain, shortness of breath or breathing problems, fever/chills, prolonged sore throat, unusual tiredness, unusual bleeding or bruising. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Lorazepam Precautions: Before using this, tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially about: heart problems, kidney problems, liver problems, breathing problems, muscle disorders, glaucoma, depression or psychiatric conditions, history of drug dependency, allergies. Use caution driving or performing tasks requiring alertness. a preservative (benzyl alcohol) which may be found in this product or at liquid used to mix this product (diluent) can infrequently cause serious problems (sometimes death) if given by injection to an infant during 1st months about life (neonatal period). the risk is greater with lower birth weight infants and is greater with increased amounts about benzyl alcohol. Symptoms include sudden gasping, low blood pressure, or very slow heartbeat. Report these symptoms to doctor immediately should they occur. If possible, preservative-free product should be used when treating neonates. it drug is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your physician before using this medication. it drug is excreted in to breast milk. Caution is advised. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding. Elderly patients may be more sensitive to effects about this medication. Use with caution. Use of it med (contains benzyl alcohol) isn't recommended for newborns.
Lorazepam med interactions: Tell you're healthcare professional of all nonprescription and prescription drugs you take especially of: narcotic pain meds, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping tablets, antidepressants, probenecid, seizure medication, barbiturates, theophylline. it is recommended to limit use of alcohol while using it drug as excessive drowsiness can occur. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or doctor approval.
Lorazepam Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include confusion, slow reflexes, clumsiness, deep sleep, & loss about consciousness.

If you missed Lorazepam dose: If you miss dose, use is as soon as remembered. If It's near the clock for next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Lorazepam Storage: Refrigerate this medication between 36 to 46 degrees F (2 to 8 degrees C) away from light. do not freeze. Properly discard tablet that isn't clear or contains particles.
