Benzodiazepines (sleep-inducing) - oral
Prosom Usage: this drug is used to treat insomnia (sleeping disorders).
How to use Prosom: Take this drug 15 to 30 minutes before bedtime as directed. Take this with food or milk if stomach upset occurs. do not suddenly stop taking this medication without 1-st consulting your physician if you have been taking this for some time. it may be necessary to gradually decrease dose. Take this exactly as prescribed. don't increase dose or take it since longer than prescribed. Tolerance may develop with long-term or excessive use making it less effective.
Prosom side effects: Stomach upset, blurred vision, headache, dizziness, depression, impaired coordination, trembling, nightmares, weakness, memory loss, hangover effect (grogginess) or clouded thinking may occur. If any about these effects persist or worsen, inform your physician promptly. Report promptly: mental confusion, seizures. Very unlikely but report promptly: rapid heartbeat, yellowing eyes or skin, fever. in unlikely part you have an allergic reaction to this tablet, seek doctor attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake about alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre doctor or physician.
Prosom Precautions: Tell youre doctor if you have: kidney disease, liver disease, history of med dependence, history of depression, breathing problems, apnea, seizures, any allergies. Caution is advised when using it drug in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to the affects of the drug. it medication must not be used during pregnancy. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform youre doctor immediately. It's not known if it med is excreted into breast milk. Consult your physician before you breast-feed.
Prosom drug interactions: Tell your doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription tablet you may take including: medication for depression, anti-seizure drugs, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), sedatives. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.
Prosom Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include drowsiness, loss of coordination, slurred speech, unconsciousness, confusion, dizziness, shallow & slow breathing, or seizures.
Prosom special notes: You may experience sleeping difficulties first one or two nights after stopping this medication. Be aware about this effect. If problem continues, contact your healthcare professional. Elderly persons usually more sensitive to the effects about this tablet. Use cautiously.
If you missed Prosom dose: Take some your dose at or near bedtime. If you miss dose, do not take this if It's near time for you're following dose. Instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Prosom Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store at the bathroom.
