Zelnorm Usage: this pill is used to treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) in woman who have constipation as major symptom. Tegaserod relieves constipation by shortening time stool remains in bowel, reducing stomach pain & bloating. this tablet must not be used to treat IBS in woman who have diarrhea as their major symptom. it drug has not been shown to work in men with IBS.
How to use Zelnorm: Take this medication by mouth, usually two times daily before meals; or as directed by some your doctor. Take this medication for 4 to 6 weeks. If you symptoms improve, you're healthcare professional may recommend second four to 6 weeks about treatment.
Zelnorm side effects: Headache, stomach pain, joint pain, or diarrhea may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify youre pharmacist promptly. If diarrhea occurs, it may be only temporary during 1'st week of treatment. If it occurs, your doctor may recommend that you drink plenty of liquids to avoid becoming dehydrated. If the diarrhea does not resolve on Its own after 2 days or if you feel weak or have severe cramping or dizziness, consult youre pharmacist immediately. If you experience different or suddenly worsening stomach pain compared to your regular IBS symptoms, stop taking it medication & call your doctor immediately. An allergic reaction to it drug is unlikely, but seek immeditial healthcare professional attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Zelnorm Precautions: this medication isn't recommended for use if you have the following medical conditions: severe kidney disease, moderate to severe liver disease, a history of certain stomach disorders (e.g., bowel obstruction, symptomatic gallbladder disease, suspected sphincter of Oddi dysfunction, or abdominal adhesions). Tell your doctor you're medical history, especially about: current or repeat episodes of diarrhea or stomach pain, & of any allergies you may have. Tell your healthcare professional if you pregnant before using this drug. Tegaserod must be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. this is not known whether this medication passes into breast milk. Breast-feeding while using this med isn't recommended. Consult youre healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Zelnorm medication interactions: Tell your physician about every prescription & nonprescription medication you may use, especially: digoxin. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Zelnorm Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe diarrhea & severe headache.
Zelnorm special notes: do not share it drug with others.
If you missed Zelnorm dose: If you miss dose, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Zelnorm Storage: Store at room temperature (77 degrees F or 25 degree C) away from light & moisture. Brief storage between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted. do not freeze.
