Warning: Suddenly stopping this medication may result in high fever, confusion, increased awkward muscle movements, muscle stiffness, and in rare cases, death. If you experience any of symptoms listed above seek immediate medical attention. It's important to insure that it drug is not stopped suddenly by learning how to properly use pump, refilling the pump on clock, & being aware about pump alarms & what to do if pump alarms. this is especially important for certain patients who are at greater risk (e.g., spinal cord injuries at T-6 or above, communication difficulties, history of withdrawal symptoms from ether oral or intrathecal baclofen). Always keep some your scheduled appointments since refilling it medicine. If you must miss refill appointment, contact your physician immediately to reschedule the appointment before you run out of medication.

How to use Lioresal Intrathecal: this medication is injected into spinal cord (intrathecal) as directed by youre healthcare professional. Dosage is adjusted based on your condition & response to therapy. Follow all instructions for proper dilution with correct fluids. Consult some your pharmacist. it drug product should be checked visually for particles or discoloration before use. If present, do not use liquid. When used for extended periods, this drug may not work as well & may require different dosing. Lioresal Intrathecal side effects: Constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, weakness, headache, trouble sleeping; change in amount or frequency of urine; loss of appetite, change in sexual ability, or changes in pulse may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify you're physician. Unlikely but report promptly: fainting, pink urine, mental/mood changes. Very unlikely but report promptly: chest/leg pain, seizures, difficulty speaking, numbness/tingling, fever, vision changes, unsteadiness, swelling. in the unlikely chapter you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immeditial medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or healthcare professional.
Lioresal Intrathecal Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, including: any allergies, diabetes, seizures, kidney disease, strokes, stomach/intestinal ulcers, mental/mood disorders. Limit alcohol intake, as this may aggravate certain side effects of this tablet. Caution is advised when performing tasks requiring alertness (e.g., driving). To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising from a seated or lying position. Caution is advised when it drug is used in elderly, as they may be more sensitive to the side effects of baclofen. this med must be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your doctor. Its not known whether it med is excreted in to breast milk. Because of potential risk to infant, breast-feeding while using this drug isnot recommended. Lioresal Intrathecal medication interactions: Tell your physician of every nonprescription and prescription drug you may use, especially drugs causing drowsiness, such as: medicine for sleep, sedatives, tranquilizers, anti-anxiety meds, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines, anti-seizure drugs, other muscle relaxants, certain antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine). money all nonprescription medicine labels carefully, especially cough-and-cold preparations, since many can contain antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine) which can cause drowsiness. Lioresal Intrathecal Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, lightheadedness, dizziness, slow or shallow breathing, seizures, loss about muscle tone, & loss of consciousness.

If you missed Lioresal Intrathecal dose: If you are using a pump to receive this medication, always keep your scheduled refill visits. If you must miss an appointment, contact some your doctor immediately to reschedule before you run out of med.
Lioresal Intrathecal Storage: Before dilution, store at room temperature between 36 & 86 degrees F (2-30 degrees C) away from light & moisture. for following details on product stability after dilution in correct fluids, consult your pharmacist. Discard any unused portion about the ampule or cartridge.
