Bactrim Iv Usage: this antibiotic is used to treat wide variety of infections.
How to use Bactrim Iv: this drug must be administered as directed by your physician. Antibiotics work best when amount about medicine in youre body is kept at constant level. Do this by using the drug at evenly spaced intervals throughout day & night. Continue to use it medication until full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after few days. Stopping the drug too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in relapse of infection.
Bactrim Iv side effects: it drug may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea, headache or vomiting. If any of these effects persist or become severe, inform you're doctor. Sulfonamides may increase sensitivity to sunlight. rarely, it tablet may cause serious, even fatal, side effects such as severe peeling skin rash known as Stevens- Johnson syndrome, blood disorders (e.g., agranulocytosis, aplastic anemia), or liver damage. Seek immeditial healthcare professional attention if you develop any of following symptoms: skin rash or blisters, unusual fatigue, persistent sore throat or fever, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, abdominal pain. in unlikely series you have an allergic reaction to this med, seek immediate healthcare attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.
Bactrim Iv Precautions: Tell youre pharmacist your medical history, especially of: liver or kidney problems, asthma or other breathing problems, blood disorders, any allergies (especially drug allergies). this medication may make you prone to sunburn. If you become sun sensitive, wear protective clothing & a sunscreen. this medication shouldnot be used in infants younger than two months. However, if the decision is made to use this medication in infants (neonates), it should be known that preservative (benzyl alcohol) which may be found in it product or at the liquid used to mix it product (diluent) can infrequently cause serious problems (sometimes death) if given by injection to an infant during 1st months of life (neonatal period). risk is greater with lower birth weight infants & is greater with increased amounts of benzyl alcohol. Symptoms include sudden gasping, low blood pressure, or very slow heartbeat. Report these symptoms to physician immediately should they occur. If possible, preservative-free product must be used when treating neonates. preservative (benzyl alcohol) which may be found in it product or in liquid used to mix this product (diluent) can infrequently cause serious problems (sometimes death) if given by injection to an infant during first months of life (neonatal period). risk is greater with lower birth weight infants & is greater with increased amounts of benzyl alcohol. Symptoms include sudden gasping, LBP, or very slow heartbeat. Report these symptoms to physician immediately should they occur. If possible, preservative-free product should be used when treating neonates. it drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy & the use of this drug isnot recommended near term. Discuss the risks & benefits with youre doctor. this drug is excreted into breast milk & may have undesirable effects on the nursing infant. Consult some your pharmacist before breast- feeding.
Bactrim Iv drug interactions: Inform youre pharmacist about all medicines you may use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially of: other antibiotics, warfarin, oral tablets for diabetes, phenytoin, methotrexate, cyclosporine, oral PABA. do not start or stop any medicine with-out doctor or pharmacist approval.
Bactrim Iv Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea or vomiting, stomach pain, dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, depression, blood in urine, and loss of consciousness.
Bactrim Iv special notes: Drink plenty of fluids while taking this drug unless your doctor directs you otherwise. it medication has been prescribed for your current condition only. don't use it later for another infection or give it to someone else. a different medication may be necessary.
If you missed Bactrim Iv dose: If you should miss a dose, use this as soon as remembered unless it is almost time for the next dose. If It's nearly clock for the following dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Bactrim Iv Storage: Store in room temperature away from sunlight. do not refrigerate.
