Septra Usage: it antibiotic is used to treat a wide variety of infections including urinary tract infections, middle ear infections and respiratory tract infections, including pneumocystis pneumonia.
How to use Septra: Take each dose with full glass about water. If stomach upset occurs, it may be taken with food or milk. the liquid suspension form of this medicine must be shaken well before each dose. Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication unless your pharmacist directs you otherwise. Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at constant level. Do it by taking medication at evenly spaced intervals throughout day & night. Continue to take this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished. Stopping pill too early may result in relapse of infection.
Septra side effects: this tablet may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea, headache or vomiting. If any of these effects persist or become severe, inform your doctor. sulfa in this combination tablet may increase sensitivity to sunlight. Notify some your pharmacist if you develop: simple bleeding or bruising. rarely, it drug may cause serious, even fatal, side effects such as severe peeling skin rash known as Stevens- Johnson syndrome, blood disorders (e.g., agranulocytosis, aplastic anemia), or liver damage. Seek immeditial doctor attention if you develop any about following symptoms: skin rash or blisters, unusual fatigue, persistent sore throat or fever, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, abdominal pain. in the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to it pill, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, breathing trouble. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Septra Precautions: Tell your doctor youre medical history, especially of: liver or kidney problems, asthma or other breathing problems, blood disorders, allergies (especially drug allergies). Because it medication may make you prone to sunburn, wear protective clothing & sunscreen. this medication is not recommended for use in infants younger than 2 months. it drug must be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. the use of this drug is not recommended near term. Discuss risks & benefits with some your healthcare professional. this drug is excreted into breast milk & may have undesirable effects on nursing infant. Consult your physician before breast- feeding.
Septra drug interactions: Tell you're healthcare professional about every medicines you may use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially of: warfarin, oral drugs to treat diabetes, methotrexate, oral PABA, phenytoin, methenamine, cyclosporine. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Septra Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea or vomiting, stomach pain, dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, depression, blood in urine, & loss of consciousness.
Septra special notes: this medication has been prescribed for youre current condition only. don't use it later for another infection or give this to someone else. different tablet may be necessary.
If you missed Septra dose: If you should miss dose, take this as soon as remembered unless Its almost time since next dose. If It's nearly time for next dose, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Septra Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight & moisture.
