Propylthiouracil Usage: Propylthiouricil prevents the thyroid gland from producing thyroid hormone. this is used to treat hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid gland) or to prepare thyroid for surgery.
Propylthiouracil can be used also for: this drug may also be used for treating alcohol-caused liver disease.
How to use Propylthiouracil: Take it medication at regular intervals around time, usually 3 times daily every eight hours. Or take as directed by your healthcare professional.
Propylthiouracil side effects: it drug may cause stomach upset, nausea, loss about taste sensation, headache, drowsiness or dizziness. If any of these effects persist or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. Notify your doctor if you experience any of next: fever, sore throat, simple or unusual bleeding or bruising, skin rash, yellowing about eyes or skin, vomiting, general weakness. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.

Propylthiouracil drug interactions: Tell youre physician of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially: warfarin, digoxin, beta-blockers (e.g., metoprolol, propranolol), theophylline. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Propylthiouracil Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, headache, fever, & joint pain.
Propylthiouracil special notes: Be sure that you have enough medication on hand at every times to take all of your prescribed doses. check your supply before vacations, holidays, and other occasions when you may not be able to obtain it. do not share this medication with others.
If you missed Propylthiouracil dose: If you miss a dose, contact some your physician or pharmacist promptly for specific advice.
Propylthiouracil Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. do not store in the bathroom.
