    Warning: this drug must not be used to treat obesity because serious, even life-threatening, effects could occur. Excessive levels of thyroid hormone can cause irregular heartbeats, nervousness, weight loss, & insomnia.

    Thyrolar 1 Usage: Thyroid replacement therapy is prescribed when not enough thyroid hormone is being secreted from the thyroid gland.

    How to use Thyrolar 1: Take it medication on an empty stomach. it is usually taken as a single daily dose before breakfast. do not stop taking this med unless consulting with youre pharmacist. Replacement therapy is usually taken for life. Lab tests may be done periodically to monitor effectiveness of this medication.

    Thyrolar 1 side effects: Symptoms about low thyroid levels include fatigue, muscle aches, constipation, dry skin, weight gain, slow heart rate, sensitivity to cold or dry, brittle hair that tends to fall out easily. These symptoms must disappear as youre body adjusts to the med. If they persist or become bothersome, inform your physician. Symptoms about high thyroid levels include headache, chest pain, fast/irregular heartbeat, shortness of breath, trembling, sweating, diarrhea or weight loss. the dose of the medication may need to be reduced. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre doctor or pharmacist.

    Thyrolar 1 Precautions: Before using this drug, tell your pharmacist your medical history, especially about: heart problems, diabetes, adrenal gland problems, allergies (including drug allergies). Avoid using thyroid drugs for weight control. Current information shows that this medication may be used during pregnancy. Small amounts of this drug excreted in to breast milk. Consult you're doctor before breast-feeding.

    Thyrolar 1 drug interactions: Inform your healthcare professional about all the medicines you use (both prescription and nonprescription), especially of: warfarin, drugs that may increase heart rate or blood pressure such as decongestants or caffeine (decongestants may be found in in over-the-counter cough-and-cold medicines), estrogen goods (including estrogen-containing birth control pills), digoxin, cholestyramine, colestipol, medicines used to treat diabetes. don't start or stop any medicine with out healthcare professional or doctor approval.

    Thyrolar 1 Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nervousness, quick heart rate, diarrhea, stomach cramps, trouble sleeping, and weight loss.

    Thyrolar 1 special notes: don't share this medication with others.

    If you missed Thyrolar 1 dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; don't take if it is almost time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up. Call your doctor if you miss two or more doses in row.

    Thyrolar 1 Storage: Refrigerate between 36 to 46 degrees F (2 to 8 degrees C), in tightly-closed container, away from light. Keep this & all medications away from child & pets.
