    Ciprofloxacin HCL Usage: this medication is quinolone antibiotic used to treat wide variety of bacterial infections.

    How to use Ciprofloxacin HCL: this medication may be taken with or with out food, usually 2 times a day, in morning & in the evening, or use as directed by your doctor. Take it drug two hours before or 6 hours after taking any products containing magnesium, aluminum, or calcium. some examples include quinapril, didanosine, vitamins/minerals, & antacids. Dairy products (e.g., milk, yogurt), calcium-enriched juice, sucralfate, bismuth subsalicylate, iron, & zinc also included. These products bind with ciprofloxacin preventing Its full absorption. Note: it medication may be taken with glass of milk or calcium-enriched juice with a meal; taking it with milk or calcium-enriched juice without meal will prevent the med from being fully absorbed. Drink plenty of fluids while using it drug unless your healthcare professional tells you otherwise. Antibiotics work best when amount of medicine in your body is kept at constant level. Therefore, take it med at evenly spaced intervals. Continue to take it pill until full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the med too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow, which may result in relapse of the infection. Read the Patient information Leaflet available from some your pharmacist.

    Ciprofloxacin HCL side effects: this med may cause stomach upset, loss of appetite, diarrhea, nausea, headache, vision changes or dizziness during the first few days as your body adjusts to the drug. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: joint/muscle/tendon pain or swelling (tendonitis, tendon rupture), sunburn-like skin reaction (sun sensitivity). Tell your pharmacist immediately if any about these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: seizures, mental/mood changes, easy bruising or bleeding, persistent sore throat or fever, irregular heartbeat, chest pain, stomach pain, yellowing eyes & skin, dark urine, unusual change in amount of urine, unusual fatigue. this medication may rarely cause severe intestinal condition (pseudomembranous colitis) due to resistant bacteria. this condition may occur weeks after treatment has stopped. do not use anti-diarrhea products or narcotic pain meds if you have the following symptoms because these products may make them worse. Tell your physician immediately if you develop: persistent diarrhea, abdominal or stomach pain/cramping, blood/mucus at your stool. Use of this drug for prolonged or repeated periods may result in oral thrush or new vaginal yeast infection (oral or vaginal fungal infection). Contact your doctor if you notice white patches in your mouth, change in vaginal discharge or other new symptoms. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immeditial medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or healthcare professional.

    Ciprofloxacin HCL Precautions: Before using this medication, tell your doctor or doctor your medical history, especially of: seizures, brain or nervous system disorders, kidney disease, tendon problems, liver disease, blood vessel problems, any allergies (especially to other quinolone antibiotics such as levofloxacin). this drug may make you dizzy or lightheaded; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. this med may make you more sensitive to sun. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, tanning booths or sunlamps. Use a sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors. Caution is advised when using this drug in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to side effects of the drug, (e.g., tendon problems, especially if they also taking corticosteroid drugs such as prednisone). Caution is advised when using it medication in kid. Contact healthcare professional since more information. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. this medication passes into breast milk. Breast-feeding is not recommended while using this tablet.

    Ciprofloxacin HCL drug interactions: Also refer to How To Use section. Before using this medication, tell some your doctor or pharmacist of every prescription & nonprescription products you may use, especially of: another antibiotics, theophylline, warfarin, cyclosporine, glyburide, phenytoin, clozapine, live vaccines, probenecid, ropinirole, quinapril, didanosine, vitamins/minerals (e.g., magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, zinc), antacids, sucralfate, bismuth subsalicylate. Also report the use of meds which might increase seizure risk (decrease seizure threshold) when combined with ciprofloxacin such as: phenothiazines (e.g., thioridazine), tricyclic antidepressants (e.g., amitriptyline), isoniazid (INH), and theophylline, among others. Consult your pharmacist or pharmacist for details. Avoid drinking large amounts of beverages containing caffeine(coffee, tea, colas) or eating large amounts about chocolate. this pill may increase and/or prolong the effects of caffeine. this medication can affect the results about certain lab tests. Make sure laboratory personnel and you're doctors know you use this drug. don't start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.

    Ciprofloxacin HCL Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

    Ciprofloxacin HCL special notes: don't share this drug with others. this drug has been prescribed for you're current condition only. don't use this later for other infection unless told to do so by youre pharmacist. different drug may be necessary in those cases. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed to monitor youre progress or dollars since side effects. Consult youre pharmacist for more details.

    If you missed Ciprofloxacin HCL dose: If you miss dose, use this as soon as you remember. If this is near the clock of following dose, skip missed dose & resume some your usual dosing schedule. don't double dose to catch up.

    Ciprofloxacin HCL Storage: Store at room temperature below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C) away from light & moisture. do not store in bathroom. Keep all medicines away from kid & pets.
