    Ciprofloxacin suspension - oral

    Ciprofloxacin Usage: this tablet is a quinolone antibiotic used to treat wide variety of bacterial infections.

    How to use Ciprofloxacin: this medication may be taken with or with-out food, usually twice a day, in the morning and in evening, or use as directed by you're healthcare professional. Shake the bottle vigorously for 15 seconds before measuring out each dose. do not chew the contents about the suspension. this form of ciprofloxacin isn't for use with feeding tubes because the suspension may clog tube. Take this medication 2 hours before or 6 hours after taking any products containing magnesium, aluminum, or calcium. few examples include quinapril, didanosine, vitamins/minerals, & antacids. Dairy products (e.g., milk, yogurt), calcium-enriched juice, sucralfate, bismuth subsalicylate, iron, & zinc are also included. These goods bind with ciprofloxacin preventing it is full absorption. Note: this medication may be taken with glass of milk or calcium-enriched juice with meal; taking it with milk or calcium-enriched juice without meal will prevent the drug from being fully absorbed. Drink plenty of fluids while using this medication unless your healthcare professional tells you otherwise. Antibiotics work best when the amount about medicine in some your body is kept at a constant level. Therefore, take it drug at evenly spaced intervals. Continue to take this medication until full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after some days. Stopping medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow, which may result at relapse of infection. Read the Patient information Leaflet available from your physician.

    Ciprofloxacin side effects: this medication can cause stomach upset, loss of appetite, diarrhea, nausea, headache, vision changes or dizziness during the first some days as you're body adjusts to the drug. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify you're doctor or healthcare professional promptly. Tell youre pharmacist immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: joint/muscle/tendon pain or swelling (tendonitis, tendon rupture), sunburn-like skin reaction (sun sensitivity). Tell your pharmacist immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: seizures, mental/mood changes, simple bruising or bleeding, persistent sore throat or fever, irregular heartbeat, chest pain, stomach pain, yellowing eyes and skin, dark urine, unusual change in amount about urine, unusual fatigue. this medication may rarely cause severe intestinal condition (pseudomembranous colitis) due to resistant bacteria. this condition may occur weeks after treatment has stopped. do not use anti-diarrhea products or narcotic pain drugs if you have following symptoms because these products may make them worse. Tell youre doctor immediately if you develop: persistent diarrhea, abdominal or stomach pain/cramping, blood/mucus in you're stool. Use of this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in oral thrush or new vaginal yeast infection (oral or vaginal fungal infection). Contact some your physician if you notice white patches in your mouth, change in vaginal discharge or other new symptoms. An allergic reaction to this medication is unlikely, but seek immediate healthcare attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or healthcare professional.

    Ciprofloxacin Precautions: Before using this med, tell your pharmacist or pharmacist some your medical history, especially of: seizures, brain or nervous system disorders, kidney disease, tendon problems, liver disease, blood vessel problems, any allergies (especially to other quinolone antibiotics such as levofloxacin). it drug may make you dizzy or lightheaded; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. this medication may make you more sensitive to sun. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, tanning booths or sunlamps. Use sunscreen & wear protective clothing when outdoors. Caution is advised when using it med in elderly because they may be more sensitive to the side effects of tablet, (e.g., tendon problems, especially if they are also taking corticosteroid medications such as prednisone). Caution is advised when using this drug in child. Contact the pharmacist for more information. this drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. it medication passes into breast milk. Breast-feeding isn't recommended while using this drug.

    Ciprofloxacin drug interactions: Also refer to the How To Use section. Before using it medication, tell your healthcare professional or pharmacist of all prescription & nonprescription products you may use, especially of: other antibiotics, theophylline, warfarin, cyclosporine, glyburide, phenytoin, clozapine, live vaccines, probenecid, ropinirole, quinapril, didanosine, vitamins/minerals (e.g., magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, zinc), antacids, sucralfate, bismuth subsalicylate. Also report use of meds which might increase seizure risk (decrease seizure threshold) when combined with ciprofloxacin such as: phenothiazines (e.g., thioridazine), tricyclic antidepressants (e.g., amitriptyline), isoniazid (INH), & theophylline, among others. Consult your doctor or physician for details. Avoid drinking big amounts of beverages containing caffeine(coffee, tea, colas) or eating large amounts about chocolate. it tablet may increase and/or prolong the effects of caffeine. this medication can affect results of certain lab tests. Make sure laboratory personnel & your pharmacists know you use this drug. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.

    Ciprofloxacin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

    Ciprofloxacin special notes: don't share it tablet with others. this medication has been prescribed for youre current condition only. do not use it later for another infection unless told to do so by you're physician. a different drug may be necessary in those cases. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed to monitor you're progress or money for side effects. Consult youre doctor for more details.

    If you missed Ciprofloxacin dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as you remember. If Its near the time about following dose, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.

    Ciprofloxacin Storage: Before mixing, store the dry powder & mixing solution below 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). do not freeze. one time mixed, the suspension is good for 14 days & may be refrigerated or stored at room temperature below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C). do not freeze. do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children and pets. Discard any unused portion after treatment is completed.
