    Betamethasone - topical foam

    (bay-tuh-meth-uh-sown)

    common brand names: Luxiq

    Luxiq Usage: this drug is used to treat swelling, itching, & irritations about scalp (psoriasis).

    Luxiq can be used also for: it tablet may also be used for other irritated skin conditions as determined by your healthcare professional.

    How to use Luxiq: this medication is applied to skin usually twice daily, in morning and at night, or as directed by your physician. since proper use of it foam, turn can upside down before & during spraying. Clean & dry affected area before applying medication. To apply to scalp, turn the can upside down and spray little bit of foam onto a saucer, plate, or another cool surface. do not spray foam directly onto the hands because the foam will immediately begin to melt on warm skin. Pick up small amounts about foam with some your fingers & gently rub it into affected areas until foam disappears. Continue applying the foam in this manner until the entire affected scalp region is treated. do not bandage, wrap, or cover treated region unless instructed to do so by your physician. Avoid using this tablet around eyes unless directed to do so by your physician.

    Luxiq side effects: Burning, itching, stinging, or redness of skin may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Tell some your doctor immediately if you develop any of these serious side effects: tingling or numbness of hands/feet, severe headache, acne, hair loss, swelling and redness about the eyes. Tell youre doctor immediately if you develop any about these unlikely but serious side effects: changes at skin color, lip swelling, severe rash, lines on the skin. Tell youre doctor immediately if you develop any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects: vision problems, increased thirst or urination, unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or physician.

    Luxiq Precautions: Tell your pharmacist your medical history, including: hormone/steroid-related conditions (e.g., Addison's disease, Cushing's syndrome), allergies, especially to other corticosteroid drugs (e.g., clobetasol, prednisone). Treatment with this, or other corticosteroid-containing skin products (e.g., alclometasone, hydrocortisone) beyond 2 weeks consecutively is not recommended. Though very unlikely, this is possible it medication will be absorbed into your bloodstream. this may have undesirable effects that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. it is especially true for children & for those who have used this medication for an extended period of time, or if they also have medical problems such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries. this precaution applies for up to one year after stopping use of this drug. Consult your healthcare professional or pharmacist for more details. this product is contained in can under extreme pressure. To avoid injury, do not puncture or burn can. Caution is advised when using this medication in infants & children because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the drug. it drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with you're physician. It's not known whether this med passes into breast milk. Consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.

    Luxiq drug interactions: Tell you're pharmacist of all prescription & nonprescription drug you may use, especially of: other corticosteroids (e.g., hydrocortisone, prednisone), other skin goods. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or healthcare professional approval.

    Luxiq Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

    Luxiq special notes: do not share this medication with others. Inform all your doctors you use {or have used} it med.

    If you missed Luxiq dose: If you miss a dose, use this as soon as you remember. If this is near the time of following dose, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.

    Luxiq Storage: Store at controlled room temperature between 68 & 77 degrees F (20 to 25 degrees C). Because this product is under pressure, use caution not to accidentally puncture, or expose the can to extreme heat or store at temperatures above 120 degrees F (49 degrees C).
