Cipro I V Usage: this medication is an antibiotic used to treat various infections.
How to use Cipro I V: this medication is administered by slowly infusing this into vein over sixty minutes. it is usually given twice a day at evenly spaced intervals around the clock to ensure constant level of drug in your blood. Use this medication for full time prescribed. do not stop using this without your doctor's approval. Stopping therapy too soon may result in a reinfection. It's recommended to drink plenty of fluids while using this medication.
Cipro I V side effects: Headache, anxiety, restlessness, dizziness, lightheadedness, vomiting, sun sensitivity or irritation at the injection site may occur. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform youre doctor. Notify some your doctor if you develop: tremors, mental confusion, vaginal itching, diarrhea, ringing in ears, seizures. this medication may infrequently cause drowsiness. Report new pain or tenderness (tendonitis) at arms or legs promptly. this medication may rarely cause severe intestinal condition (pseudomembranous colitis) due to resistant bacteria. this condition may occur weeks after treatment has stopped. do not use anti-diarrhea products or narcotic pain medications if you have following symptoms because these products may make them worse. Tell your doctor immediately if you develop: persistent diarrhea, abdominal or stomach pain/cramping, blood/mucus in your stool. in the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to it drug, seek healthcare professional attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, fever, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or physician.
Cipro I V Precautions: Before using this medication, tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: epilepsy, kidney disease, tendon problems, nervous system disorders, liver disease, blood vessel problems, drug allergies. Use caution driving or performing tasks requiring alertness if it tablet makes you dizzy or lightheaded. Limit alcohol intake. Because this medication may make you more sensitive to the sun, avoid prolonged sun exposure. Wear protective clothing & use sunscreen when outdoors. this drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with some your doctor. this drug is excreted into breast milk. You may have to stop nursing or stop using this med. Consult you pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Cipro I V drug interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: other antibiotics, warfarin, theophylline, clozapine, ropinirole, live vaccines, phenytoin. Avoid drinking large amounts of beverages containing caffeine(coffee, tea, colas) or eating large amounts of chocolate. this drug may increase and/or prolong effects of caffeine. don't start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or physician approval.
Cipro I V Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include a change in amount of urine.
Cipro I V special notes: When possible, the injection will be replaced by drug taken by mouth. Laboratory tests may be done periodically to monitor therapy if this medication is taken for a prolonged time.
If you missed Cipro I V dose: If you miss a dose, use this as soon as remembered; do not use this if this is near the clock for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Cipro I V Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 TO 30 degrees C) or in refrigerator for up to 14 days as directed. do not freeze. cash the expiration date on label and properly discard about any unused pill after that time.
