    Cipro Usage: this medication is a quinolone antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections.

    How to use Cipro: it drug may be taken with or without food, usually 2 times a day, in the morning & in the evening, or use as directed by your doctor. Shake bottle vigorously for 15 seconds before measuring out each dose. don't chew the contents of the suspension. this form of ciprofloxacin isnt for use with feeding tubes because suspension may clog the tube. Take this medication 2 hours before or 6 hours after taking any goods containing magnesium, aluminum, or calcium. some examples include quinapril, didanosine, vitamins/minerals, & antacids. Dairy goods (e.g., milk, yogurt), calcium-enriched juice, sucralfate, bismuth subsalicylate, iron, & zinc also included. These products bind with ciprofloxacin preventing Its full absorption. Note: this drug may be taken with a glass of milk or calcium-enriched juice with meal; taking it with milk or calcium-enriched juice with out meal will prevent the drug from being fully absorbed. Drink plenty of fluids while using this medication unless you're pharmacist tells you otherwise. Antibiotics work best when the amount about medicine in you're body is kept at constant level. Therefore, take this medication at evenly spaced intervals. Continue to take this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after some days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow, which may result in relapse of infection. Read Patient information Leaflet available from your doctor.

    Cipro side effects: this medication may cause stomach upset, loss about appetite, diarrhea, nausea, headache, vision changes or dizziness during first few days as youre body adjusts to tablet. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify you're doctor or physician promptly. Tell your healthcare professional immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: joint/muscle/tendon pain or swelling (tendonitis, tendon rupture), sunburn-like skin reaction (sun sensitivity). Tell your doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: seizures, mental/mood changes, simple bruising or bleeding, persistent sore throat or fever, irregular heartbeat, chest pain, stomach pain, yellowing eyes and skin, dark urine, unusual change in the amount of urine, unusual fatigue. this drug may rarely cause a severe intestinal condition (pseudomembranous colitis) due to resistant bacteria. this condition may occur weeks after treatment has stopped. do not use anti-diarrhea goods or narcotic pain drugs if you have the following symptoms because these products may make them worse. Tell your doctor immediately if you develop: persistent diarrhea, abdominal or stomach pain/cramping, blood/mucus in some your stool. Use of it med for prolonged or repeated periods may result in oral thrush or new vaginal yeast infection (oral or vaginal fungal infection). Contact your doctor if you notice white patches in some your mouth, a change in vaginal discharge or other new symptoms. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate healthcare professional attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or healthcare professional.

    Cipro Precautions: Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist youre medical history, especially of: seizures, brain or nervous system disorders, kidney disease, tendon problems, liver disease, blood vessel problems, any allergies (especially to other quinolone antibiotics such as levofloxacin). it drug may make you dizzy or lightheaded; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. it medication may make you more sensitive to the sun. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, tanning booths or sunlamps. Use sunscreen & wear protective clothing when outdoors. Caution is advised when using this drug in elderly because they may be more sensitive to the side effects of the med, (e.g., tendon problems, especially if they also taking corticosteroid tablets such as prednisone). Caution is advised when using this drug in children. Contact physician since more information. it drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. this tablet passes into breast milk. Breast-feeding is not recommended while using it medication.

    Cipro medication interactions: Also refer to How To Use section. Before using this pill, tell youre pharmacist or physician about all prescription & nonprescription products you may use, especially of: other antibiotics, theophylline, warfarin, cyclosporine, glyburide, phenytoin, clozapine, live vaccines, probenecid, ropinirole, quinapril, didanosine, vitamins/minerals (e.g., magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, zinc), antacids, sucralfate, bismuth subsalicylate. Also report the use of pills which might increase seizure risk (decrease seizure threshold) when combined with ciprofloxacin such as: phenothiazines (e.g., thioridazine), tricyclic antidepressants (e.g., amitriptyline), isoniazid (INH), and theophylline, among others. Consult youre doctor or physician for details. Avoid drinking large amounts of beverages containing caffeine(coffee, tea, colas) or eating large amounts of chocolate. this drug may increase and/or prolong the effects of caffeine. it medication can affect the results of certain lab tests. Make sure laboratory personnel & your doctors know you use this medication. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.

    Cipro Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

    Cipro special notes: do not share this drug with others. this drug has been prescribed for your current condition only. don't use it later for another infection unless told to do so by you're physician. different medication may be necessary in those cases. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed to monitor your progress or money since side effects. Consult you're physician for more following information.

    If you missed Cipro dose: If you miss dose, use this as soon as you remember. If it is near the time about the following dose, skip missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.

    Cipro Storage: Before mixing, store the dry powder and mixing solution below 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). don't freeze. once mixed, suspension is good for 14 days & may be refrigerated or stored at room temperature below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C). do not freeze. don't store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from kid & pets. Discard any unused portion after treatment is completed.
