Dextromethorphan w/decongestant - oral
Cough Mixture Usage: Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. this combination drug is used to treat symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis and other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Cough Mixture: Take it drug as prescribed. do not increase some your dose or take this more often then directed. Capsule dose forms should be swallowed whole.
Cough Mixture side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, nervousness, restlessness, loss of appetite, nausea or dry mouth may occur the 1st some days as your body adjusts to medication. If any about these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify you're doctor if you develop chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, tremors, extreme nervousness, hallucinations. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre doctor or physician.
Cough Mixture Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: heart disease, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, allergies (especially drug allergies). check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult you're pharmacist promptly if this contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. it medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with some your pharmacist. for small amounts of this pill found in breast milk, consult youre pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Cough Mixture medication interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription pill you may use, including: blood pressure meds, drugs used to reduce weight, heart pill, tablet that prevents drowsiness, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not use this product together with an MAO inhibitor, or for two weeks after stopping MAO inhibitor tablet. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Cough Mixture Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, hyperactivity, slow or shallow breathing, blurred vision, or unconsciousness.
Cough Mixture special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Cough Mixture dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near time for the following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Cough Mixture Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
