Compazine Usage: this medication is used to control nausea & vomiting. It's also used for anxiety.
How to use Compazine: Warm the suppository under lukewarm water or in your hands. Unwrap suppository & moisten with a small amount water. Lie down on your left side with right knee bent. Push suppository into the rectum with youre finger. Remain lying down for a few minutes and avoid having bowel movement for an hour or longer so the drug will be absorbed. do not use more of this medication than prescribed.
Compazine side effects: Constipation, drowsiness, vision changes or dry mouth may occur. If any about these effects persist or worsen, notify youre pharmacist. Unlikely to occur but report promptly: restlessness, muscle stiffness, weakness, difficulty speaking, loss of balance, mask- like facial expression, trembling or shaking, dizziness, lip smacking or other uncontrollable movements, difficulty urinating, skin rash/discoloration. Very unlikely to occur but report promptly: sore throat, unusual bleeding or bruising, stomach pain, yellowing of eyes or skin, dark urine, hot dry skin, vomiting. Though very unlikely to occur, notify youre physician immediately if you experience any of following effects: severe muscle stiffness, confusion, fever, seizures, irregular/fast heartbeat, increased sweating, prolonged/painful erection. in the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immeditial medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're pharmacist or pharmacist.
Compazine Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history especially about: very high or very low blood pressure, liver or heart disease, Reye's syndrome, alcohol or drug dependencies, nervous system problems, blood disorders, any allergies (especially drug allergies). Use caution performing tasks that require alertness such as driving or using machinery. Use of alcohol may cause extreme drowsiness. Avoid alcohol use. this medication may increase sensitivity to sunlight. Avoid prolonged sun exposure & wear a sunscreen & protective clothing when you are exposed to sun. this medication can reduce sweating making you more susceptible to heat stroke. Avoid strenuous work or exercise in hot weather. the manufacturer about this drug does not recommend Its use during pregnancy. However, this may be used in certain cases. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Certain drugs closely related to it one (a phenothiazine) are excreted into breast milk & may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Consult youre doctor before breast-feeding.
Compazine drug interactions: Inform your pharmacist about all meds you use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially about: anti-depressant/anti-anxiety drugs, sparfloxacin, grepafloxacin, guanethidine, guanadrel, metrizamide, cabergoline, lithium, narcotic pain drug (e.g., codeine), drugs used to aid sleep, drowsiness-causing antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine), any another drugs that may make you drowsy. many cough-and-cold products contain ingredients that may add drowsiness effect. Before using cough-and-cold medications, ask your pharmacist or pharmacist about the safe use of those products. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Compazine Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include restlessness, muscle spasms, tremors, twitching, deep sleep or loss of consciousness, and seizures.
Compazine special notes: do not share this medication with others.
If you missed Compazine dose: If your dosing schedule is 1/day, use the missed dose as soon as you remember that day. If the missed dose is not remembered until the next day, skip missed dose and resume your regular schedule. If your schedule is more than one dose daily, use the missed dose if you remember within an hour. If you do not remember until later, skip missed dose and resume your regular schedule. in all cases, do not 'double-up' the doses.
Compazine Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight.
