Reglan Usage: Metoclopramide is used for nausea, vomiting, heartburn, loss of appetite, bloating and gastric reflux.
How to use Reglan: this drug is injected into a vein (IV) or into muscle (IM) as directed by you're doctor. the dosage depends on youre condition & response to medication. Metoclopramide works best when used 30 minutes before a meal. do not use this more often or in larger doses than prescribed by youre healthcare professional.
Reglan side effects: Nausea, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, restlessness or sleeplessness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform youre doctor. Notify your doctor if you experience: uncontrolled movements of the face/eyes or limbs, muscle spasms, trembling of hands, any personality changes (such as depression). in unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this med, seek immeditial medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your physician or doctor.
Reglan Precautions: Tell your pharmacist some your medical history, especially of: adrenal tumors, seizure disorders, Parkinson's disease, high blood pressure, heart disease, liver or kidney disease, mental conditions/depression, stomach/intestinal problems (e.g., bleeds or blockages), diabetes, asthma, any allergies. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery if this medication makes you drowsy. Alcoholic beverages can add to drowsiness effect caused by this drug. Avoid alcohol while using this medication. Tell your healthcare professional if you are pregnant before using this drug. Metoclopramide is excreted into breast milk. Though their have been no reports (to date) of harm to nursing infants, consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Reglan med interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of every medicines you may use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially: cimetidine, insulin, cabergoline, cyclosporine, digoxin, levodopa, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). Tell your physician if you take any drugs that make you drowsy such as: narcotic pain med (e.g., codeine), tranquilizers, sleep medicine, antidepressants, drowsiness-causing antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine), sedatives, alcoholic beverages. Before having surgery with a general anesthetic, including dental surgery, tell the doctor or dentist you use metoclopramide. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or doctor approval.
Reglan Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include drowsiness, disorientation, twitching of face or tongue, loss about balance, uncontrolled movements of arms & legs, & difficulty speaking and swallowing.
Reglan special notes: don't share this tablet with others.
If you missed Reglan dose: If you miss dose, use this as soon as remembered; do not use if this is almost clock for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume some your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double- up' the dose to catch up.
Reglan Storage: Store undiluted doses at room temperature between 68 and 78 degrees F (between 20 & 25 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. do not store in the bathroom. 1 time diluted, doses must be used within 24 hours. Discard after 24 hours. do not save for later use because they contain no preservatives.
