Reglan Usage: Metoclopramide is used to relieve certain stomach-and- esophagus problems such as diabetic gastroparesis & gastroesophageal reflux disorder (GERD).
Reglan canbe used also for: this medication may also be used to prevent nausea & vomiting caused by another drugs. it may be used since other purposes as determined by your doctor.
How to use Reglan: Take it medication by mouth as directed by your doctor. Metoclopramide works best when taken 30 minutes before meal. youre dosage depends on some your condition & response to the drug. do not take it more often or in larger doses than prescribed by your physician.
Reglan side effects: Nausea, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, restlessness or sleeplessness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your pharmacist. Notify your doctor if you experience: involuntary movements of eyes/face/limbs, muscle spasms, trembling of the hands. Also, notify your physician if you experience the following: any personality changes such as depression. in unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to it drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre doctor or physician.
Reglan Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: adrenal tumors, seizure disorders, Parkinson's disease, HBP, heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease, mental problems or depression, intestinal/stomach blockage or bleeding, diabetes, asthma, any allergies. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Alcoholic beverages can add to drowsiness effect caused by this drug. Avoid alcohol while taking this medication. Tell your physician if you pregnant before using it drug. Metoclopramide is excreted into breast milk. Though there have been no reports (to date) of harm to nursing infants, consult youre doctor before breast-feeding.
Reglan medication interactions: Tell some your doctor of all medicines you may use (both prescription and nonprescription), especially: cimetidine, insulin, cabergoline, cyclosporine, digoxin, levodopa, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline), medications that may add to drowsiness effect of metoclopramide (narcotic pain medications, meds, tranquilizers, sleep medicines, antidepressants, drowsiness-causing antihistamines such as diphenhydramine), alcoholic beverages. Before having surgery with general anesthetic, including dental surgery, tell the doctor or dentist in charge you are taking metoclopramide. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or doctor approval.
Reglan Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness; confusion; agitation; muscle restlessness; & unusual movement about eyes, face, or limbs.
Reglan special notes: do not share this tablet with others.
If you missed Reglan dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take if It's almost clock for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Reglan Storage: Store at room temperature between 68 & 78 degrees F (between 20 & 25 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. don't store in the bathroom. do not freeze liquid forms.
