Robitussin Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous and congestion. Pseudoephedrine is decongestant which helps relieve nasal congestion. this combination medication is used to treat symptoms associated with a cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.
How to use Robitussin: Take it med by mouth. it should be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew the medication. If stomach upset occurs, this may be taken with food or milk. Take it drug as directed. don't increase the dose or take it more often or longer than prescribed. It's recommended to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses day) to help relieve congestion.
Robitussin side effects: Nausea, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nervousness, dizziness, or headache may occur the 1st several days as you're body adjusts to the drug. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficulty urinating (men only), difficulty sleeping. Because this drug can cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness & avoid consuming alcohol which can aggravate it effect. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Robitussin Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: pre-existing heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, lung disease, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, an enlarged prostate, history about seizures. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. it isn't known if this tablet appears in breast milk; consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Robitussin tablet interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, drug for depression, medication for high blood pressure. Tell your doctor if you have taken any MAO inhibitors in last two weeks: furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine, linezolid. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Robitussin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, quick or irregular heartbeat, and seizures.
Robitussin special notes: do not share it product with others.
If you missed Robitussin dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if Its almost clock for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Robitussin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. don't store in the bathroom.
