Robitussin Usage: Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. this combination drug is used to treat symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Robitussin: Take this medication as prescribed. do not increase your dose or take this more often then directed. Capsule dose forms should be swallowed whole.
Robitussin side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, nervousness, restlessness, loss of appetite, nausea or dry mouth may occur the 1st several days as you're body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform youre healthcare professional. Notify your doctor if you develop chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, HBP, tremors, extreme nervousness, hallucinations. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre pharmacist or physician.
Robitussin Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: heart disease, hypertension, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, allergies (especially drug allergies). dollars this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Robitussin drug interactions: Tell some your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may use, including: blood pressure medications, drugs used to reduce weight, heart medication, drug that prevents drowsiness, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not use this product together with an MAO inhibitor, or for two weeks after stopping the MAO inhibitor med. do not start or stop any medicine with out doctor or healthcare professional approval.
Robitussin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, hyperactivity, slow or shallow breathing, blurred vision, or unconsciousness.
Robitussin special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it drug. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Robitussin dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Robitussin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in the bathroom.
