Disophrol Usage: Antihistamines provide relief of symptoms about allergies such as rash, hives, watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes and sneezing. Decongestants relieve congestion, promote sinus draining and improve breathing.
How to use Disophrol: May be taken with food or milk to prevent stomach upset. It's recommended to drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication, unless you're doctor instructs you otherwise. If symptoms don't improve after 7 days or accompanied by high fever, notify some your doctor. do not increase dose or take this more frequently than recommended. suspension dosage form must be shaken well before each use.
Disophrol side effects: may cause drowsiness, dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, stomach upset, blurred vision, restlessness, irritability and dry mouth & nose. These effects must subside as your body adjusts to the drug. If they persist or become bothersome, inform you're doctor. Notify your pharmacist if you develop: breathing difficulties, heart pounding, irregular heartbeat, chest pain, ringing in ears, difficulty urinating. may cause dizziness especially when rising quickly from seated or lying position. Change positions slowly & be careful on stairs. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Disophrol Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: asthma, glaucoma, ulcers, difficulty urinating due to an enlarged prostate gland, heart disease, high blood pressure, seizures, an overactive thyroid gland, drug allergies. cash this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your physician promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. do not drink alcoholic beverages. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. do not give this medication to a kid younger than 6 years of age unless directed to do so by a doctor.
Disophrol med interactions: Tell youre doctor what drugs you take, especially of: high blood pressure medications, anti-seizure medications, antidepressants, sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, narcotic pain drug, other cold or allergy medication. do not take this medication if you have taken an MAO inhibitor (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine) within the last two weeks. do not start or stop any medicine with-out doctor or pharmacist approval.
Disophrol Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose in children may include dizziness, nausea/vomiting, abnormal eye movements, flushed face, dry mouth, change in amount of urine, fever, excitation, agitation, unconsciousness, bizarre behavior, confusion, restlessness, irritability, delirium, twitching, tiredness, abnormal tongue movement, trembling extremities, slurred speech, or seizures. Symptoms of overdose in adults may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, or unconsciousness, which may be followed by excitement or seizures.
Disophrol special notes: don't share this product with others.
If you missed Disophrol dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Disophrol Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight and moisture.
