Cortisporin Usage: this medication has antibiotic combinations and hydrocortisone. it is used on skin to treat an infection & relieve associated itching and swelling.
How to use Cortisporin: this drug is for topical use only. Clean & dry the affected area as directed. then apply small amount about the drug on the skin. a thin layer is all that is needed. do not bandage, wrap or cover area treated unless you are instructed to do so by your doctor. do not use large amounts, apply this more often or use this for longer period than directed. your condition will not clear faster, but chance for side effects may be increased. Use carefully if applying to face. Avoid contact with eyes & mouth. do not apply to nostrils unless directed by you're physician.
Cortisporin side effects: this pill may cause burning, redness, or a rash. Notify your doctor if you develop any of these symptoms. Very unlikely to occur but report promptly following side effects: unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea/vomiting, fainting, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're pharmacist or pharmacist.
Cortisporin Precautions: Tell your pharmacist your medical history, especially of: infection to area being treated, any allergies you may have. Though very unlikely, it is possible this medication will be absorbed into you're bloodstream. this may have undesirable consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment this is especially true for children & for those who have used this for an extended period if they also have serious medical problems such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries. this. precaution applies for up to one year after stopping use about this medication. Consult your healthcare professional or pharmacist for more details. it drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. it is not known if this pill is found in breast milk. Consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Cortisporin med interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: any skin products. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Cortisporin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. it medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Cortisporin special notes: If the condition for which this was prescribed does not improve or becomes worse after a few days, notify your physician. Inform all your doctors you use (or have used) this medication. do not share this pill with others.
If you missed Cortisporin dose: If you miss a dose, apply this as soon as remembered; do not take this if It's near time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Cortisporin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat. bucks expiration date on tube & discard any expired medication.
