Citrucel Usage: Bulk-producing laxatives help restore normal moisture levels in intestine & provide bulk to promote well formed stools. They are used in the treatment of diarrhea or constipation and in treatment of irritable bowel syndrome, spastic colon, diverticulitis & hemorrhoids. Psyllium, bulk producing laxative, has also been used to reduce cholesterol levels at conjunction with a dietary program.

How to use Citrucel: Take each dose with full glass of water & drink plenty about fluids while taking this medication. Chewable tablets to be chewed thoroughly. tablets can be swallowed with full glass about water. Wafers are to be chewed. powder must be measured as directed and stirred into a glass of water or juice. Drink immediately.

Citrucel side effects: this medication is generally well tolerated. Bloating, gas, and feeling about fullness may occur. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. Notify your doctor if you experience: stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, rectal bleeding, unrelieved constipation. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or physician.

Citrucel Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have any illness or allergies. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor. this medication does not appear in breast milk. However, you should consult your physician before using any med while breast-feeding.

Citrucel Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include severe bloating & severe stomach pain.

If you missed Citrucel dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if It's near the time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Citrucel Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & moisture. do not store in bathroom.
