Guaifenesin Phenylephrine Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous & congestion. Phenylephrine is decongestant which helps relieve nasal congestion. this combination med is used to treat symptoms associated with cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.
How to use Guaifenesin Phenylephrine: Take it drug by mouth. pills should be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew them. If stomach upset occurs, it may be taken with food or milk. Take this medication as directed. do not increase the dose or take it more many times or longer than prescribed. It's recommended to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses a day) to help relieve congestion.
Guaifenesin Phenylephrine side effects: Nausea, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nervousness, dizziness, or headache may occur first few days as your body adjusts to medication. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. Notify your physician if you develop: chest pain, rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficult or painful urination, difficulty sleeping. Because this pill can cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness & avoid consuming alcohol which can aggravate this effect. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Guaifenesin Phenylephrine Precautions: Tell youre physician if you have: pre-existing heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, lung disease, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, an enlarged prostate, history about seizures. it med should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risk and benefits with your pharmacist. It's not known if this medication appears in breast milk; consult you're healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Guaifenesin Phenylephrine drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, pill for depression, tablet since high blood pressure. Tell your pharmacist if you have, in the last two weeks, taken any MAO inhibitors: furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine, linezolid. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or healthcare professional approval.
Guaifenesin Phenylephrine Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include headache, dizziness, blurred vision, unusually fast or slow heartbeat, numbness about fingers, vomiting, drowsiness, fatigue, or seizures.

If you missed Guaifenesin Phenylephrine dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost clock since the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
