Phenydex Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous and congestion. Decongestants (e.g., pseudoephedrine) help relieve nasal congestion. it combination medication is used to treat symptoms associated with a cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.
How to use Phenydex: Take it tablet by mouth as directed. do not increase dose or take it more many times or longer than prescribed. it is recommended to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses a day) to help relieve congestion.
Phenydex side effects: Nausea, stomach upset, loss about appetite, nervousness, dizziness or headache may occur first several days as your body adjusts to drug. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficulty urinating (men only), difficulty sleeping. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Phenydex Precautions: Tell youre physician if you have: heart problems, liver disease, kidney disease, lung disease, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating or an enlarged prostate, seizures, allergies (especially drug allergies). Because this tablet may cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness & avoid consuming alcohol which can aggravate it effect. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. this isnt known if this drug appears in breast milk; consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Phenydex pill interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take, including: sleeping tablets, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, medication for depression, HBP drugs. Tell youre doctor if you have taken any MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine) in last two weeks. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Phenydex Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, quick or irregular heartbeat, & seizures.
Phenydex special notes: do not share this product with others.
If you missed Phenydex dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time since next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Phenydex Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from heat and sunlight. don't store in bathroom.
