Neomycin/polymyxin/steroid suspension - ophthalmic/otic

Cortisporin Usage: this medication is used to treat or prevent eye or ear infections.
How to use Cortisporin: for best results, use this medication exactly as directed. Continue using it since full time prescribed. Stopping this pill too soon may not clear the infection and may result in relapse of the illness. EYE: Apply eye drops to the affected eyes as follows. Wash hands first. To avoid contamination, don't touch dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any another surface. Shake eye drops before using. Tilt your head back, gaze upward & pull down the lower eyelid to make pouch. Place the dropper directly over the eye & administer prescribed number of drops. see downward and gently close your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Place one finger at corner of the eye near you're nose and apply gentle pressure. this will prevent the drug from draining away from the eye. do not blink or rub the eye. don't rinse dropper after use. Replace cap tightly. If you using another kind of eye drop, wait at least five minutes before applying other medications. EAR: To apply ear drops, wash hands first. Follow same rules to avoid contamination as noted above. Lie on your side or tilt the affected ear upward. Place dropper directly over the ear & administer prescribed number of drops. To roll drops into ear - Adults: pull the ear lobe up & back. Children: pull the ear lobe down & back. Keep the head tilted for about two minutes or insert a soft cotton plug if directed to do so by your pharmacist. do not rinse the dropper. Replace cap after use.
Cortisporin side effects: this drug may temporarily sting or burn for minute or two when applied. If it continues or becomes bothersome, inform your pharmacist. Vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable since short while after applying eye drops. Use caution if driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. Notify your physician immediately if you develop: skin rash, itching, burning, redness, pain, swelling at or around the eyes/ears, other vision/hearing problems. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact you're healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Cortisporin Precautions: Tell your doctor of all eye problems (for eye drops) or ear problems (for ear drops) and of any allergies you may have. it medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Discuss risks & benefits with your healthcare professional.
Cortisporin pill interactions: Tell you're pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription med you may take. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or physician approval.
Cortisporin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Cortisporin special notes: If the condition for which it was prescribed does not improve or becomes worse after few days, consult you're doctor.
If you missed Cortisporin dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use this if it is near time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Cortisporin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. Discard this after the expiration date.
