Sodium-potassium citrates - oral tablets

Citrolith Usage: this pill makes urine less acidic. Its used in treatment of certain kidney disorders & gout. it may also be used with some antibiotics to make them more effective.
How to use Citrolith: usual dosage is 1 to 4 pills with a full glass (8 oz or 240 ml) of water, after meals & at bedtime. do not lie down since 30 minutes after taking it medication. Take as prescribed. don't increase youre dose or take this more often without your doctor's approval.
Citrolith side effects: Notify your physician if you develop: diarrhea, nausea & vomiting, stomach pain, fluid retention, convulsions, unusual weakness, mental confusion, tingling or numbness of the hands or feet. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact you're doctor or pharmacist.
Citrolith Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, liver disease, Addison's disease, HBP, allergies (especially drug allergies), a sodium (salt) restricted diet (this drug contains sodium). this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. since small amounts of it medication found in breast milk, consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Citrolith medication interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: lithium, chlorpropamide, methotrexate, aspirin, water pills, heart or blood medication, methenamine, tetracyclines (including doxycycline & minocycline). do not start or stop any medicine with-out pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Citrolith Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include listlessness, weakness, confusion, and tingling in arms or legs.
Citrolith special notes: While taking this medication, this may be necessary for you to test the pH (acidity) of your urine using special paper. the pH will help determine the proper dose.
If you missed Citrolith dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; don't take it if this is near the time for following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Citrolith Storage: the pills should be stored at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 TO 30 degrees C).
