Guaifenesin/decongestant/narcotic antitussive liquid - oral
Nucotuss Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant that loosen mucus. the decongestant relieves nasal stuffiness. low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control a cough. this combination medication is used to treat cough and relieve symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, and other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Nucotuss: this medication is best taken with, or after, meal or snack. Take this medication as prescribed. don't increase your dose or take this more many times than directed.
Nucotuss side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea or anxiety may occur the first several days as some your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform youre healthcare professional. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake about alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify you're healthcare professional if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, HBP, painful or difficult urination, tremors, nervousness, trouble sleeping, hallucinations. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Nucotuss Precautions: Tell you're healthcare professional if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, history of drug dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this medication causes you to feel drowsy. cash this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult you're healthcare professional promptly if it contains PPA or if you uncertain it product has PPA. this product must be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your pharmacist. at least one of the ingredients in this combination product is known to be excreted into breast milk. Consult youre pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Nucotuss drug interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, MAO inhibitors (e.g., selegiline, linezolid, furazolidone, phenelzine, tranylcypromine), cimetidine. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or physician approval.
Nucotuss Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include slow or shallow breathing, slow heart rate, small pupils, severe drowsiness, or unconsciousness.
Nucotuss special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this med. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Nucotuss dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near clock for the following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Nucotuss Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store at the bathroom.
