Maalox Ms Usage: this is an antacid that works in stomach to neutralize & reduce acid. Antacids are used to treat an upset stomach caused by heartburn, acid indigestion, or sour stomach; to treat peptic ulcer, hiatal hernia or other conditions caused by an excess of stomach acid; & to prevent ulcers or bleeding from ulcers.

How to use Maalox Ms: Take this medication as prescribed. Taking too much of an antacid can reverse effects and more acid will be secreted. at certain conditions, however, it may be necessary to take the antacid as frequently as every 1 to two hours. To be effective, chewable meds must be chewed thoroughly before swallowing followed by a full glass of water. Shake liquid forms well before pouring each dose. don't take any another med within 1 to two hours of taking an antacid. since antacids coat stomach, they can prevent other drugs from being absorbed properly if taken at same clock.

Maalox Ms side effects: it medication may cause nausea, loss of appetite, constipation or diarrhea, weakness, or headache. If these symptoms persist or become severe, notify you're physician. Notify your doctor if you notice black, tarry stools while taking this medication. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're healthcare professional or physician.

Maalox Ms Precautions: Tell your physician some your medical history, especially about: kidney problems.

Maalox Ms drug interactions: Tell youre doctor of all prescription & nonprescription medications you may use, especially of: tetracycline, ferrous sulfate (iron), tablets used for arthritis (e.g., aspirin, indomethacin), digoxin, isoniazid, pseudoephedrine, diazepam, methenamine, ketoconazole. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or physician approval.

Maalox Ms Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include dizziness, fatigue, weakness, severe nausea & vomiting, loss about appetite, drowsiness, slow or shallow breathing, or loss of consciousness.

Maalox Ms special notes: Refrigerating liquid antacids may improve the taste. do not freeze. If you dislike taste of one antacid, talk to your healthcare professional or pharmacist about switching to similar product. liquid antacid forms work faster & are more effective than the other forms. However, chewable tablets may be more convenient.

If you missed Maalox Ms dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if It's almost clock for following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Maalox Ms Storage: Store tablets, capsules & powdered forms at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in bathroom. do not freeze liquid forms of this tablet.
