Cefuroxime Axetil Usage: this drug is cephalosporin antibiotic & is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections.

How to use Cefuroxime Axetil: Take it drug with food as directed by your doctor. Antibiotics work best when amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Do this by taking medication at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day & night. Continue to take this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in relapse about the infection. Swallow tablets whole. do not crush or chew; they have strong bitter taste. Use liquid suspension form of this medication if It's difficult to swallow the pills.

Cefuroxime Axetil side effects: this med may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting. Take with food or milk to minimize these effects. If they continue or become severe, inform youre doctor promptly. Inform your doctor promptly if any of these effects occur: headache, dizziness, fatigue, muscle aches, strange taste in mouth, persistent fever, easy bruising or bleeding, persistent sore throat. Though occurring sometimes, seek immediate medical attention if you experience: seizures, jerky movements, severe drowsiness, yellowing about eyes or skin, dark urine, change in amount of urine. in unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immeditial healthcare attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your doctor or pharmacist.

Cefuroxime Axetil Precautions: Tell youre physician your medical history, especially about: kidney problems, stomach/intestinal problems, any allergies. Use of this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). Tell you're physician if you are pregnant before using this medication. Cefuroxime is excreted into breast milk. Though there have been no reports (to date) about harm to nursing infants, consult your physician before breast-feeding.

Cefuroxime Axetil med interactions: Tell your physician of all medications you may use (both prescription and nonprescription), especially of: drug for gout (such as probenecid), live vaccines, other antibiotics. this tablet may interfere with effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your physician. Diabetics should be aware it medication may cause false positive urine glucose tests. talk to your doctor or pharmacist about other ways to monitor your blood glucose. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or doctor approval.

Cefuroxime Axetil Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include seizures.

Cefuroxime Axetil special notes: this drug has been prescribed for your current condition only. do not use it later for another infection or give it to someone else. a different medication may be necessary.

If you missed Cefuroxime Axetil dose: If you should miss dose, take this as soon as remembered unless it is almost time since next dose. If It's nearly time since following dose, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
