Tussin Cough Cold Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan suppresses a cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. it combination medication is used to treat cough & relieve symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis and other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Tussin Cough Cold: this pill is best taken with full glass of water after a meal or snack. Swallow long acting tablets & capsules whole. do not crush or chew them because the long action will be destroyed and the chance of side effects will be increased. Take this medication as prescribed. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed.
Tussin Cough Cold side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss about appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Notify your pharmacist if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. Tussin Cough Cold drug interactions: Tell your doctor of every prescription & nonprescription drugs you use, especially: medication for blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.g., codeine, morphine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. do not start or stop any medicine with out doctor or pharmacist approval.
Tussin Cough Cold Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss of coordination, unusual movements of eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change in behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or fast heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, large pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.
Tussin Cough Cold special notes: Drink plenty about fluids, especially water while taking it medication. this will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Tussin Cough Cold dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near the time for following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.
Tussin Cough Cold Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
