P V Tussin Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. the low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control a cough. antihistamine is for relief from sneezing, runny nose, water eyes. this combination product is used to treat symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, hay fever & another respiratory illnesses.
How to use P V Tussin: Take it medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. this drug is best taken with a full glass of water after meal or snack.
P V Tussin side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, stomach upset or dry mouth may occur first few days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're doctor or healthcare professional.

P V Tussin pill interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription tablet you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping tablets, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine, narcotic pain drug (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking it drug. do not start or stop any medicine with out physician or pharmacist approval.
P V Tussin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, headache, dizziness, weakness, profuse sweating, slow or fast heartbeat, slow or shallow breathing, hyperactivity, fever, seizures, or unconsciousness.
P V Tussin special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it drug. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed P V Tussin dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if It's near time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
P V Tussin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
