Guaifenesin with dextromethorphan - oral

Phanatuss DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. this combination drug is used to treat cough associated with common cold, allergies and other respiratory illnesses.

How to use Phanatuss DM: Take this pill as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take it more often then directed. Capsules and long-acting tablets must be swallowed whole with a full glass of water. do not crush or chew them. long action will be destroyed & the chance of side effects will be increased.

Phanatuss DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur the first several days as some your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform youre doctor. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop any of these effects while taking this pill: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if this medication makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Phanatuss DM Precautions: Tell your physician your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. this pill should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with some your pharmacist. since small amounts of it med are found in breast milk, consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.

Phanatuss DM drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or doctor approval.

Phanatuss DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.

Phanatuss DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it tablet. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.

If you missed Phanatuss DM dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Phanatuss DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. don't store in bathroom.
