Methadone concentrate - oral

Warning: Methadone is to be taken by mouth only. it must not be injected. Methadone is a synthetic narcotic. Patients who physically dependent on narcotics will go through withdrawal syndrome if given the usual dose about narcotic antagonist (e.g., naloxone). If narcotic antagonist must be given, dose must be smaller than the usual dose and this must be given with extreme care.

Methadose Usage: this is used since narcotic addiction. Methadone is potent narcotic substance. it may cause serious side effects & toxic reactions if used by someone other than person for whom it is prescribed. do not share this drug with others.

Methadose canbe used also for: it drug may also be used since severe pain.

How to use Methadose: Take it med only by mouth. To prevent upset stomach, take with food or milk. Take this as prescribed. do not increase you're dose, take it more frequently or use it for longer period of time without your doctor's approval. Also, if used for a long period of time in high doses, don't suddenly stop taking it with out first consulting your doctor. When used for extended periods, this pill may not work as well & may require different dosing. Consult you're doctor if drug isnt working properly.

Methadose side effects: may cause constipation, lightheadedness, dizziness, drowsiness, stomach upset, nausea, & flushing 1st some days as you're body adjusts to tablet. If these symptoms persist or become bothersome, inform your doctor. To minimize constipation, increase you're intake of fiber, drink plenty of water, and exercise. Stool softeners may be helpful. Ask your doctor or pharmacist of stool softeners & laxatives. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop: irregular heartbeats, anxiety, tremors, seizures. in unlikely series you have an allergic reaction to this medication, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your doctor or pharmacist.

Methadose Precautions: Tell youre pharmacist some your medical history, especially of: stomach problems (e.g., colitis), substance abuse problems, allergies. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Alcoholic beverages may add to effects of it med causing dizziness or drowsiness. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about use of alcohol. Caution is advised when using this drug in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to the effects of med. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your pharmacist. this drug is excreted at to breast milk & may affect infant. Consult your physician before breast-feeding.

Methadose drug interactions: Tell your doctor of every prescription & nonprescription drugs you may be using, especially: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), psychiatric medications, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, zidovudine, rifampin, another narcotic pain relievers, barbiturates, cimetidine, anti-seizure drugs, certain antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine), alcohol. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or physician approval.

Methadose Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include cold and clammy skin, low body temperature, slowed breathing, slowed heartbeat, drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, deep sleep, & loss about consciousness.

Methadose special notes: do not share this pill with others. this is against the law.

If you missed Methadose dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if Its almost time for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Methadose Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. do not store at the bathroom.
